Greetings!

July, it was tough without my wife.  (Still in Sweden settling our kids.)  Boring, routine, and to be honest a bit lonely - now I'm not the person to usually complain about lack of social contact lol, rather I'd complain when it's too much. And I do see people at work, but that's not the same really.  I don't have close friends, since my mid 20's.  When I graduated from art school, that was it. Soon after I started moving around the world.  After that, my wife (who is super-social), her friends, and later my kids, would be enough social contact for me. Sometimes too much.  :)

But, yeah she's coming back August 29 and I've taken some vacation days then, so that'll be great.  I'm counting the days.  :D

Anyway, here's the image, which again isn't a "pinup" this month either, sorry again, but as I mentioned last month I'm taking a break from that, due to some trouble with Patreon hardening their stance, and other comments.  I'll drift back into it in the future, if you're wondering what my upcoming rewards will be like, see my other post for the overall roadmap for the next 9 months.  (Yes, I've been more productive than usual these last couple months, wonder why.)   :)

Another reason there's just a simple portrait this month is that the image I was planning originally got out of hand with scope and complexity, as sometimes happens, so you'll see that one next month.

This one is a "cutified" or "chibified" portrait of Joanna Frank, in the similar way that Ilya Kuvshinov and others work.

Here's the high-res jpeg for Joanna, and the next 2 pages Photoshop files of my comic Android Blues, pages 77 and 78.

I hope you enjoy, thanks for your support!  :)

Sad to hear of your wife passing away to another state (🤣) as we joke around here between my friends we are currently passing into the liquid state where at most we have the strength to do the work that's "not really required but you better do it if you like having a job" while smeared on the bed at home. One almost welcomes work hours due to air conditioning. But i hope when your wife returns to your current state (or nation, whatever 😁👍) you can have more to do together besides... well.... being smeared onto a bed/couch/work seat in the form of a pool of sweat with arms as strong as noodles. Good luck. 😁👍

Ouch that sounds horrible! At least here we have air conditioning everywhere... I'm sitting under one right now. :)

I'm in the same boat, used to have a huge social network, and even though I lean a bit towards the introverted side I still spent most of my time in the company of friends. After marriage and kids, though, I barely see anyone outside of family and work. Lately I've been hungry for connection with like minds. Great portrait, btw.

Hope you guys can work something out, or you can find remote work and move back with her! Having the following you do/ history and experience, I would think you'd be able to live simply off commission. My main goal is for remote- makes most sense for actually living your life/ enjoying your life + being able to pay for stuff xD
