Hi everyone!

Brace yourself, we got quite a lot of news to share, and an important question.

Albums in 2024!

This month, we released "It Might Be Too Much", by the band Too Much Of Such. It's a very original eastern-european folk/tavern album! I promise you'll never find anything similar anywhere else. The album was produced, mixed and mastered by Vladimir Miladinov & Filip Melvan.

"Chosen+" patrons will receive it for free on the 26th of January.

Already 10 albums are planned for this year (yes, 10!). Next month, we'll release "Biomes, Vol. 1", a collection of 8 long tracks based on different biomes, composed by FIlip Melvan. In March, it will be the Modern Collection Vol. 2.

And after that ? The exact release order is tbd, but you can expect the Essentials Ambiences Vol. 9, a Sci-Fi album, probably another Sci-Fi album and several Paizo albums! This year, it's very much worth to support us as a "Chosen"-tier patron, as you'll get all of them for free.

The art for the Biomes Themes was done by Dean Spencer. I'm currently in the process of replacing all our album AI images by real artists work. He's one of the artists who do the artworks for our Opus solution.

New SFX guy!

Since our own audio solution is perfect to play SFX (they can be cumbersome if you play them without the proper tool), it's the perfect moment to invest in them. I've recruited a new sound designer to help me compose them. We work together and it's a great experience. We are following your requests (feel free to fill this form to share your ideas). In the past month, we composed over 170 SFX, which is a 25%~ total increase. They will be shared within the next months as per usual. I plan to increase the number of 30SFX/month if Patreon goes up.

Btw, the improved and highly efficient search tool should be added on dScryb within the next week, along with the playlist system. Stay tuned!

This month upload

Normally I share about 10 ambiences per month for 5$ patrons, and about 20 in total for the guardians+. This month, it will be much more. I've been working on variations of the "Walking in [...]" ambiences. To be more precise, ambiences of a group of adventurers moving through some place. It's often requested. Please never hesitate to suggest new ambiences!

Freebies

I realized I had a few unreleased of my own music tracks lying around. I don't plan to add them on any album, nor to ask any form of payment for them. You can download them for free in the "Freebies" album on Bandcamp, at the bottom of the page.

I may update it over time. I think I have more tracks that could be given away.

Video Game!

MGS, and Filip specifically, have been asked to compose a soundtrack for an upcoming VR video game. Heavily inspired by tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Ascent Quest offers a place to meet people in virtual reality, a great story to play alone or in a group of up to 4 players, all set in a high fantasy universe rich in lore! The Kickstarter page can be found here.

Naturally, this can only happen if the KS is successful... and it is! :)

Voicelines question

I'll run a poll about this, but a few days ago, a patron asked me if MGS provided NPC voicelines, such as :
"Stop Right There!" "You Shall Not Pass!", etc...

While I see several difficulties that could arise (mainly price, as voice actors are extremely expensive, but also different languages), I wonder what's your position about that. I'll run a poll in another post soon. Feel free to discuss it here or on Discord as well.

Licenses changes

In a general effort to simplify MGS at large, I'm deleting the 15$ tier license on Patreon for content creators. This subdivision wasn't easy to manage and generated too many questions. If you subscribed to get it, don't worry, the change isn't retroactive.

I'm currently also reworking our website (actually I restarted from scratch) and our current commercial licenses will also get a rework. I'll merge the actual six tiers into one.

If you read through all of this, you have my respect! Have fun adventurer!
