Greetings everyone!

Our second music release for today is a dungeon compilation.

''Songs Of The Oak...these scrolls speak about 4 impenetrable strongholds, hidden around the world. Guarded by 4 masters...awaiting to be challenged...''

This story...well...more like an idea for a story, came to me while while I was writing the songs for this compilation. Aside from dramatic text I just wrote, they are actually very much subdued in tone, a bit dark but definitely not meant to be used in combat.

Their purpose is to emphasize the atmosphere of these locations. But, before each location's challenge, comes a little bit of brainstorming and exploration.
That's the best part of gameplay, right!?…right?...ehmm...
Anyway, these songs are the ones you play between the encounters in dungeons.

Who knows, maybe I'll write combat songs to go along with this adventure in the near future, just to round up the concept. ;)

Enjoy!

Hahaha, as much as I'd like to tease more...no. But fear not, February is near! ;) - Filip

The low and slow strings that start at 2:14 in Arabeth's Keep would be great for a more subdued combat track (which you already know I appreciate). The throat singing in Stormgallad's Cave lends just the right atmosphere to that track, and I think it's my favorite...Arabeth's Keep coming in a close second with the vocals in that one. Speaking of vocals, I have always wondered how you get such great vocals in your tracks. I mean, the choir-in-the-background ones, throat singing samples, etc. seem fairly straightforward to pull off, but the vocals in Arabeth's Keep seem much more difficult to incorporate from samples. I'd be very interested in seeing a "watch me work" type video from you demonstrating how you pull that off. ;)

The vocals I use are libraries, that much is obvious. But to explain how I mix and blend them altogether to sound so much organic and natural, is impossible. Only through demonstration, which will see the light of day soon, I hope! I am gathering strength and courage to start streaming this year. Lot's of questions to be answered and lots of demonstrations to be shown. :D Thanks for your constructive feedback, Rob! It means a lot! - Filip
