*AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT*

Hello my wonderful Patrons!

I have emailed each of you a personalized code which unlocks one month of access, FOR FREE, to a very secret project on which MGS has worked relentlessly for the past year. Well, it’s not a secret anymore!

Go check your email now.

(Check your spam/promotional folders if you think you didn't receive it. If you still can't find it. PLEASE SEND A MESSAGE AND MENTION THE EMAIL ADDRESS WITH WHICH YOU SIGNED UP TO PATREON)

Some more information:

The code works for a limited time only.

This project is a partnership with our friends at dScryb.com. Many of you already know these incredibly talented writers from Canada who had the fantastic and unique idea of writing compelling boxed text for TTRPGs.

One year ago, MGS and dScryb decided to join forces to create a whole new type of multimedia tool. We painstakingly integrated their fantastic descriptions and our ENTIRE library to create the ultimate platform for bringing immersive descriptions and audio to your table! We call it the Sonic Library.

We all know the problems with the existing tools to manage audio at your table: besides not having 10,000 fantastic written descriptions of places, monsters, and more to go with the audio, these tools also take hours to set up, require the installation of applications, are overly-complex, and often have minimal content.

The Sonic Library is simply better: it is an easy-to-use yet powerful interface, which offers access to the largest audio library for TTRPGs in the world (and keep reading, there is great news coming in that regard). As a DM, most of my sessions are 100% improv, so I also wanted the tool to work for DMs who don’t wish to plan their sessions. The Sonic LIbrary does, and it does it really well.

That's not all!

The Sonic Library includes VoIP to replace Discord, if you wish; it provides you one link to invite all of your players; and yes, it works both virtually—streaming synchronized audio to all your players—and in person.

The Sonic Library also includes:

  • Ambiences embedded in scenes
  • Customizable music playlists
  • Sound effects boards
  • Ambience layering
  • Scene and Sonic Library searching
  • Composition importing and sharing
  • And so much more…

What about the tech?

It's ours, and it's all new. We have a large team of developers on it.

It's gentle with your bandwidth, and yet it doesn't compress the sound like YouTube or Spotify does. Also, it's very high bitrate stereo.

Where is it going?

The Sonic Library is already working well, but we aren't going to stop here. What's planned for the future?

  • Improved UI/UX
  • While it's already faster than other solutions out there, I'd like to have a latency close to zero because I'm impatient. So:optimization.
  • Dark mode for the goblins among you.
  • Better playlist system for music
  • Integration with FoundryVTT. dScryb already has a module but it doesn't manage audio yet. We know how much you (and us) love Foundry, so that's a priority, but we want to do it properly to use Foundry at its full potential, so it's going to take a few months.
  • Premade collections for the popular, “official” adventures that you know and love. Basically click-and-load readied audio selections.
  • I was speaking about "the biggest audio library for TTRPGs". Not only does the Sonic Library offer MGS' audio, but we are also partnering with some of the main composers in the TTRPG sphere (and beyond, such as my bro Adrian von Ziegler) to offer their work on the platform. All songs will be curated and added to carefully made playlists.
  • Sound effects looping to personalize your ambiences.

What about this Patreon page?

Nothing will change. We will keep sharing our new compositions here. If you are here either to download the audio files (which the Sonic Library, as a streaming platform, does not provide) or to support MGS, you can continue doing so. However, if you do decide that the incredible Sonic Library is right for you, then I wholeheartedly encourage you to subscribe to it, as this also supports me on an ongoing basis.

So, if you haven’t already, go check your email and try out the Sonic Library at no cost while the offer lasts.

Lastly, if you’ve just become a patron in the last few days, you may not have received the code. If that’s the case, feel free to contact me and I’ll hook you up. But I won’t be able to extend this special offer to anyone who becomes a patron after today.

Now it's time for you to try the tool, and for me to take a breath! Happy holidays!

Michael
