This pack lays out an encounter you could very easily sprinkle into your ongoing game, or it might be used to kick off a campaign or one-shot. Whereas usually my digital packs will include five encounter cards, the reason this one's shorter is to make it feel more, well, special. It's a quick experience through which you can lead your players, with the main point being to provide the party with some purpose, some direction, a thoughtful bridge between this moment and the next. If it's a new party that'll be playing this, it can be used to bond the characters together, and if it's a more seasoned party, maybe it gives it some pause to reflect, a change of scenery which can always reveal opportunities to refocus, to grow, to learn. Who is The Immortal? The party might meet him as an old man, and will encounter him and his curious wisdom throughout its time in the realm in which it finds itself, but it may become apparent that he is well and truly connected to the mythical beast the party comes across in this realm. A useful approach with The Immortal could be to leave the players with more questions than answers, to leave them curious about the experience their characters go through and this mysteriously serene, but all-powerful, figure who sets them on their path.
