Chapter 171: The Pseudo-Shota and the Fake Loli

Everyone present was well-prepared, fully equipped, and wearing gas masks was nothing out of the ordinary.

Biscuit was the one who happened to hitch a ride, but she was quite interested in the legendary gem, so it was a serendipitous meet of needs that got her on board without any special gear.

As for Luo, God's Hand was the best equipment there could be.

Gas masks were merely a precaution, not a critical necessity, so Uncle Li and the others didn’t make a fuss about Luo and Biscuit not having any.

After donning the masks, everyone gathered around a stone door, their attention never really on the reliefs carved on it.

Sssss...

Uncle Li lit a flare and threw it into the abyss-like darkness of the door.

The flare fell like a star dropping from the night sky, its light gradually diminishing until it was the size of a thumbnail, but it kept burning.

The fact that it didn’t go out indicated there was plenty of oxygen below.

Uncle Li looked at the others who were ready with a rope, one end tied to a boulder, the other end attached to a stone.

No one spoke; Luo and Biscuit stood on the periphery, like bystanders.

The person in charge of the rope slowly lowered the stone-tied end into the door; this rope was their ‘ladder’ for descending into the tomb and could also be used to measure the depth.

“Luo, I’m a bit scared, can you protect me later?” Biscuit said with a pitiful look as the preparations to enter the tomb were nearly done.

“...”

Hearing this, Luo silently looked at a large dent on a nearby boulder, thinking that no one present could withstand even one of your punches?

They had briefly introduced themselves earlier when Uncle Li and the others started their preparations, so they knew each other's names.

“I need to learn some self-defense techniques, I’m so cute after all. Plus, there might be some weird Nen in the tomb. With your impressive Nen exorcism, I feel safer with you around,” Biscuit cooed without changing her expression.

If Luo didn't know Biscuit's real age and appearance, he wouldn’t have felt disgusted by her words, but revealing that was not an option.

Among all those present, Luo felt confident facing anyone except Biscuit… his power was simply not on the same level as hers.

However, since Biscuit wanted to team up with him, he might as well go along with it. With Biscuit's strength, watching each other’s back was a good idea.

“Actually, I was thinking the same. The stones at Mount Grul are so tough, and you could easily make a dent in them. With you by my side, I’ll feel a lot safer going into the tomb. Don’t think I’m just good at exorcism; I'm actually very weak physically. Even if I had another ten years, I couldn’t make a dent in the stones of Mount Grul with one palm!”

Luo looked at Biscuit admiringly and started to ramble. He knew Biscuit was a kind senior who loved to lie and play pranks, so it was fine to team up with her.

This kid, is he implying that I’m strong?

Biscuit thought, yet her face showed a charming smile, “That’s wonderful!”

Luo nodded slightly, smiling.

They looked at each other, smiling like kids who had just received candy.

Thus, the unique pseudo-shota and fake loli paired up.

The others were focused on descending quickly to retrieve the treasure, not paying attention to Luo and Biscuit’s conversation.

Even those whose physical condition was several times better than ordinary people didn’t think of retreating temporarily after encountering weird phenomena.

A step forward might mean a lifetime of wealth and honor, while a step back could dissolve all their persistence into nothing.

“Just be a bit careful…”

With this mindset, the ordinary people selectively ignored the two unlucky ones who hadn’t even started but were already knocked out by the Nen on the stone door.

They were not dead, but they wouldn’t wake up anytime soon, and no one was kind enough to send them to Bab town, so they were left aside.

Soon, the rope with the stone reached the ground.

The person responsible for lowering the rope checked the mark and said in a deep voice, “About a hundred and ten meters.”

“That’s not too deep, but this tomb entrance is really unheard of,” someone commented as they looked into the dark depths.

“Haha, this is the legendary Stajy’s Tomb, how could it not be special?”

“We are the first batch to try our luck!”

Perhaps thinking of the many treasures inside Stajy’s Tomb, the previously solemn atmosphere became much lighter.

“That said, are you sure this is St

ajy’s Tomb?”

Suddenly, Luo’s discordant voice broke into the relaxed mood.

Hearing Luo’s words, the faces of the few discussing froze, instinctively turning to Uncle Li.

“This kid is doing this on purpose, isn’t he?” Biscuit muttered, holding her forehead.

Luo said this because the carvings on the stone door were so strange; it was more likely to be a relic than a tomb.

“Whether it’s Stajy’s Tomb or not, we’ll know once we go down,” Uncle Li glanced at everyone, concluding the topic with just one sentence.

Not wanting to delay further, he continued, “Who will go down first?”

As soon as he said this, those who had been eager immediately chose silence, understanding that the early bird gets the worm.

After a brief silence, Luo was about to break the ice when Ruby, with his trademark green cauliflower hair, made a flashy entrance and chuckled, “Let this handsome guy go first!”

Saying so, without giving the others a chance to react, he grabbed the rope and swiftly slid down, vanishing into the darkness.

Seconds later, a white light flickered below, a signal from Ruby’s flashlight that everything was normal down there.

Seeing the flickering white light, soon another person followed down the rope.

Once it was clear there were no immediate dangers below, the rest followed efficiently, leaving only Biscuit and Luo.

“You go first,” Biscuit said.

Luo glanced at Biscuit’s puffy skirt, “You go first.”

“…”

Biscuit, sensing Luo’s gaze, didn’t say a word and went down first.

Luo glanced at the three unlucky ones lying on the ground, then followed down the rope.

Below was a room paved with long bricks, about five hundred square meters in size, empty, with nothing inside.

Everyone used their flashlights to scan every corner, finding nothing unusual, only a semi-arched stone door with more reliefs, this one featuring a fierce-looking two-headed bird.

With the entrance as a lesson, even those unfamiliar with Nen were wary of approaching the stone door, all eyes turning to Uncle Li.

“Luo, we need your help again.”

Uncle Li looked at Luo, because this smaller stone door also had traces of dark Nen swirling around it, weaker than the one above but still not something ordinary Nen users could handle easily.

Hearing Uncle Li’s words, the regular members were startled, was it starting again?

The Nen on the stone door was something Luo noticed as soon as he descended, like a constant delivery of experience points.

Luo approached the stone door, easily absorbed the Nen on it, and his data broke through the 30% mark. The good news was there were no temporary sealings like last time.

After removing the Nen from the door, he pushed it open, and a luminescent green light streamed through the gap, bathing everyone in an eerie glow.
