We’ve sent out the playtest version and I figured it was time for an update!

We’re really excited about this one.

To commemorate hitting our 6k goal, we’re releasing one our biggest monthly updates ever, if not the biggest. 

We’ve worked really, really hard on it, and I hope you’ll share our enthusiasm when you get your hands on it!

Book 1’s love route, while different from its slave route, was still pretty  similar; Book 2’s love route branches out extensively from the slave route. The goal being that you can play both routes and get lots of new  experiences, or just play one without missing out on anything story-wise.

If you’ve been playing the slave route, you might be noticing a difference in the player voice. In the slave routes, you’re a bit of a dick. No way around it. You want what you want and are demanding, carefree, selfish, randy, and humorous. The girls in the game get wrapped around your finger as you tell them what to expect. In the love routes, you’re a little more thoughtful. You’re still horny, but you’re more about compromise, about developing relationships built on mutual benefit, and often find yourself on the receiving end of good times for it. You’re still full of laughs, but you take things a little bit more seriously. You understand that actions sometimes have consequences, and if you’re looking for love, you’ll have a hard time  finding it by cracking the whip. This isn’t unique to any one book; it’s a purposeful decision that will be present throughout the game.

"So am I playing as the thief? As Zuko? Or am I just an amnesiac?”
The painted lady clarifies that for you in the beginning of Book 2. She puts your spirit into the body of someone in the right place at the right time, and traps their soul in the spirit world. That body becomes yours. Bodies and souls are inexorably tied together, and what affects one affects the other. As it is your soul that controls the body, that body is your body. You decide how it acts, you feel what it feels. It is your body. But there’s a hitch. To quote the lady herself:

“Bodies naturally fight possession, so if you don’t maintain certainty of self,  memories and personality from the body you inhabit will take over your  consciousness.”

This means that if you forget who you are, the  body you inhabit will attempt to fill in the “blank spaces” with memories and feelings that have been imprinted on it. It is still you, but with the empty spots filled in with false memories. This effect is much more profound when familiar faces to that body are actively attempting to trigger false memories and feelings. You’ll find out more soon!

We wore ourselves out on this one, but the end result is an update we're excited about, and once the bugs are all found and squashed, we hope you'll enjoy playing it as much as we did making it! Thank you for getting us where we are, you kindred sexual deviants!
