Unfortunately no treats to play with today as October has been a bit of a messy month from having taken one of the two full weeks I typically take off a year & then effectively spending 2 of the remaining 3 weeks just working through the crash reports that have been coming in from the preview build (so many duplicate reports from some users which make it feel like the issues are worse than they are vs what seems to be the case for the majority of users as best I can determine).

Overall the preview build has fared well enough though it's shown up some issues which beta testing never caught & am hoping the next build will resolve the ones I could directly resolve or have hopefully gotten my head around what was going on to cause them (e.g. dll delay loading issues & related multi-threading issues as part of getting metadata from the native WACUP local library plug-in & some odd quirks with the Not So Direct output plug-in during fade / volume changes).

During the week of non-crash report work, another vgm format input plug-in was finished off & added for QSF/miniqsf (Capcom Q-Sound Format) which pairs up with the existing in_psf (playstation) related format playback support.

The other thing which you'll have seen from the image for this update post but still needs to be finished (mainly the unable to submit scrobble cache) is getting the majority of a native last.fm scrobbler feature working as part of the Yule Log plug-in. This is targetted at the v2 api they offer & will be able to update the now playing aspect of the service before a scrobble is then attempted.

In implementing this I'm aware that some have been using various versions of the standalone / legacy last.fm desktop client version of the scrobbler plug-in & for those installs the new native WACUP implementation will not be able to be enabled unless those prior plug-ins are disabled so updating shouldn't break anything if you're already scrobbling & for new instances the setup then becomes simpler in not having WACUP require a version of the desktop client that last.fm doesn't support now.

A new beta / preview build should be out at some point in November where I'm also intending on setting the update flag for the preview build which'll be retiring support for the 2021 preview build.
