I have just received a small influx of subscribers because prox.bleep posted a cool video on Twitter so I thought I should just write a quick note for the new people with some information about what's going on with the project.

The latest build (v0.25.2 alpha) is here:

It has a silly bug where the "Mix" parameter for effects always defaults to 0%, so if effects don't seem to do anything, that's why. You can enable the "Mix" envelope by clicking on the (+) in the effect block header and adding "Mix" from the dropdown menu. Then manually set it to 100%.

I have spent the last 2 months working on a very complex new feature called "Macros". It's a really important feature which I think will form the sort of backbone of many other subsystems in the future. Essentially it is a way to group selections of blocks together into a parent block. You can see some demos of it by looking at some of the latest videos I have posted on Twitter.

I am still extremely busy working on this feature but it is nearing completion now and I hope it will be ready in a couple of weeks.

I used to have a website at www.blockhead.website with a wiki with a bunch of helpful information on it. The website is currently down because:

  • For some reason I decided to host the site myself from a Linux server sitting under my couch
  • Two weeks ago there was a power cut in my building and the server reset.
  • I spent 30 minutes trying to get the website back up and gave up because working on Blockhead is a higher priority.

Self-hosting the website is a stupid idea for many reasons so once I am done getting the next alpha build out I will look into migrating everything to a proper hosting provider.

In the meantime the best place to get help if you need it is the discord server: https://discord.com/invite/9ZW2UXM
