It's S&F Extra time! Here's a behind-the-scenes look at what I worked on last month.

In the gallery above, you'll find the full sized images of each piece, as well as some timelapse making-of GIFs! And down here, I'll provide some info about each one. (As well as links to video versions of the timelapses, when I have 'em!)

Baker and Andrea's Beach Day
Since this piece was drawn in Procreate, I was able to make a full timelapse video of my drawing process! I've included a short GIF version above, but you can watch the full 30-second video here.

Pin Concepts
In late April, I was working on some concepts for a new enamel pin design for this year's Gen Con pin bazaar! Here's some sketches I put together during the brainstorming process. I'll share the final design with y'all closer to the show!

Gert's Business Tips
My recent "Gert's Business Tips" storyline, which ran on the main Sam and Fuzzy website over the last few weeks, was drawn entirely in Photoshop on my wacom tablet. Can you tell the difference between my digital inking and my "normal" comics (which are usually inked on paper)?

You'll find an animated GIF of the making-of this example page in the gallery above!

Pet Quartet
Here's another set of pet portraits I drew at a recent convention appearance! The dog in "Hulkbuster" Iron Man armor was particularly tricky, but I like how it turned out!

Skull Panda's Defense
Most of the Skull Panda comics that I've been running on the S&F site in recent months were originally drawn in black-and-white. But I've really been finding that colour adds a lot to them! This comic is a good example, I think. The absurdity of the situation just feels more clear when the courtroom is in colour... it makes it feel more like an actual courtroom!

You'll find an animated GIF showing a before-and-after of the colouring process in the gallery above!

Mission Impossumible
Quick sketch of a very stupid joke that just came to me during the t-shirt brainstorming process. I uh, don't think this one would be a huge seller, but who knows. Maybe the possum-loving mormon audience is bigger than I think!

Saucy Hippo Beach Party
Last but not least, here's a big group portrait I drew of the Saucy Hippo staff hitting the beach! Uh... presumably an artificial indoor beach, since Jess is not turning into a giant slug. (This piece was originally drawn last month for the Saucy Hippo tier, so some of you will already have seen it and its nsfw variant over there.)

This piece was my first attempt at "painting" a (very simple) background in Procreate with the program's painting tools. I really liking the look of the flat-shaded characters on the more painterly background, so I wound up making the "Baker and Andrea" piece partly as an excuse to try painting a beach background that was a little more complicated! Maybe I'll play around more with this style in the future?

Thanks, everyone! 'til next time.
