It's S&F Extra time! Here's a behind-the-scenes look at what I worked on last month.

In the gallery above, you'll find the final versions of each piece, as well as some "making of" animated GIFs.  And down here, I'll provide some info about each one!

Chipmunks
Behold, the making-of process for my Chipmunk parody! The characters were drawn on paper, while the background was all digital.

This piece is based on the album cover used for the Christmas with the Chipmunks album, but I couldn't bring myself to ape the original, extremely garish colour scheme at full saturation. So I applied a weathered effect... perhaps not unlike what a real record album sleeve might look like after a few decades of poor care, haha.

Nightmare Before Christmas
Speaking of Christmas, here's a different parody piece that I drew way back in 2017, featuring the S&F crew as the cast of The Nightmare Before Christmas. You'll find both the original pencil sketch and the finished inks in the gallery.

Ninja Squirrel
And speaking of little rodents... here's a recent commission I did, featuring a ninja squirrel in a pair of poses! The commissioner thought I would be the right person to go to for when a combo of ninjas and cute animals was required. (Gee, I wonder how I gave them that impression? Haha!)

Bunsen vs Coyote
This latest commission for Bunsen (the social media science dog) features him squaring off against a coyote! The real-life Bunsen fended off a real coyote once to protect his sister Beaker... his owners asked me to draw something to commemorate this part of the Bunsen mythology in a goofier, more light-hearted way.

For this piece, I dressed up Beaker in a sweater modeled after Rocky's cornerman. The coyote's outfit is also inspired by Drago's colour scheme, but very loosely. After all, it's unlikely this coyote came from the Soviet Union, lol.

You'll find a full animated making-of GIF in the gallery above!

Kid Chameleon
Worry not, platformer fans... I'm still plugging away at my next set of platformer characters! This piece is Kid Chameleon, from the SEGA Genesis game of the same name. Kid Chameleon took liberal inspiration from Mario... Kid could transform into a bunch of powered-up forms by wearing different masks. I think this is all of them!

Ruby and Alicia
Last but not least, here is a marker-coloured original pin-up of Ruby and Alicia! Saucy Hippo subscribers will recognize this piece, as I used this line-art as the basis for both the pg and nsfw versions of their Saucy Hippo playing card pieces. You'll find larger versions of the former in the gallery above, as well as a larger photo of the marker version.

Thanks, everyone!
