It's S&F Extra time! I am still... much sicker than I would like to be, haha. But here's a look at some of the stuff I've been working on lately before I got sick!

S&F Critters as Sonic OCs
In the gallery up top, you'll find a simplified timelapse GIF of the making of this piece.
Click here to view a full 30 second timelapse video!

This piece was a lot of fun for a longtime Sonic dork such as myself. I tried to include some design language from the full range of official Sonic characters, rather than making everyone look too much like Sonic specifically. It only made sense to me for the corgis to look most like Tails, and for Dipper to be a dark rival to Baker. (Not just because of colouring... Dipper is just also kind of a moody bitch, haha!) Poppy's outfit is loosely inspired by the outfits Amy wore in the UK fleetway comics. And Conscience Cat is, of course, drawing a lot from Big the Cat's design.

Demon Lady Designs
I've been noodling away on some character designs for a potential comic about a monster queen and her henchmen. Here's one design take I came up with for the queen, in a variety of colours:

I think I like the blue and pink best, but tbh, there are lots of other things I'm indecisive about too, so I'm sure I'll have some different design concepts to share in the future. I like the idea of her having her dressing in a way that has her abs out, but I'm not sure if I want her vibe to be this barbarian-y. (Like, as opposed to more regal/dressy.) I'd also like to experiment with taking her in a less human, more monster-y direction.

Important Art
You may recall this comic from not too long ago, that I made multiple versions of:

The butt version was the first one I drew, and also by far the most honest, but I went with the Sonic version because I thought it was funnier. It's the only piece of Sonic "erotica" I've ever drawn!

In any event, here is a blank template version of the comic, if any of you desire to assign me any different important ideas to explore:

Unusual Cosplaying Pet Portraits
The theme for my selection of pet portraits this month is... well... the absence of a theme! Here, we have a cat as Isaac Newton:

A dog as Flynn Rider from Tangled:

And perhaps most baffling... two cats dressed as Simba from the Lion King and Lulu from Final Fantasy, respectively:

I'm sure it made sense to the commissioner, and that's all that matters!

Ginger Moods + Vultures sketch
More art for Bunsen and co! First off, we've got a batch of Ginger the cat, featuring a variety of moods:

And second, here's a sketch for an album cover I drew for them, featuring their fictional cartoon band!
I believe the finished cover is still under wraps, but I'll share it with y'all as soon as they've revealed it.

Cynthia Beanie Bats Pin-Up
Last but not least, here's a "pg" version of a Cynthia pin-up I drew a couple months back for the Saucy Hippo tier:

This piece was a bit of an experiment with using photo references. I don't normally reference photos directly because, well, I don't own the photos! But sometimes I'm able to get permission to adapt things from some of my pals who are in the cosplaying, modelling, or burlesque communities.

I find it very interesting to do because... my people are quite cartoony! They have huge heads and four fingers, and are proportioned pretty differently from real people. So "adapting" a photo really makes me think about how real bodies are structured, and how I could be translating some of those details into my cartoony figures while still keeping them cartoony.

That's a wrap for now, team! But I'll be back soon with more goodies.
