I apologize in advance for the extreme popping on some of the voice over--my pop filter is still packed up after moving a little while ago, and I was racing my own beam since I'm going to be out of town for a week!

Excellent video; thank you! I’m always amazed by what 70’s- and earlier-era programmers had to do (and know) to make their machines work properly. Seems to render the hardware/software distinction pretty much meaningless. I really respect their accomplishments, and I appreciate your work explaining it to us.
