Hello everyone!

It’s been awhile since my last update as I’ve been heads down on a lot of channel (and non-channel stuff). It’s time to let you in on some updates for our current slate of projects. Let’s get to it!

New logo!

As you can see, we’ve gotten some work done. Thanks to drewface, we’ve got ourselves a new look! Really happy with this new design and it’s a bit more flexible for us to use. Check out some of the variants below. We even got a cool little motion graphic made for intros/transitions!

Let me know what you think of this new design in the comments!

Life updates

So, part of the reason I’ve been busy is mostly due to paying the bills. I’ve taken an expanded role over at Games Done Quick handling their video edits (and even starting a highlights series for their Hotfix shows), so if you have a moment to subscribe to their new highlights channel, that would be most appreciated! I’m also working with Combo Breaker on a few projects I can’t talk about yet, but are really exciting and should be a lot of fun. With our logo now redesigned, my goal is to do a push for new patrons and funding (I haven’t really done a true promo video for the Patreon since we launched) in the coming months so I can start contracting some help (mostly editors, maybe some motion graphics folks) to help out as I’m starting to spread myself even thinner than usual. Once I have those plans nailed down, I’ll need your help to get the word out!

Ok, enough about all that. Let’s talk some upcoming projects

TMNTxJL

We’re doing a doc on TMNTxJL. And when I say we, I mean Phil Nolan! I’m really excited to highlight Phil on the channel as he's done some real great work in the past and he was really excited to take this on. I’ve been serving as more of a producer on this and helping him shape the story a bit, and I think we have something really good here. Check out the game while you wait for this doc to drop later this year!

Tough Love Arena

I’ve cut down our two hour talk with the creators of Tough Love Arena, Paul Weeks and Amy Xu, into a nice 30 minute video on the development of the game and the challenges of making a fighting game in a web browser. A lot of the focus for this video is on how important it is to have a beginner fighting game that you can play anywhere, so there’s a lot of really good stuff from the interview that just didn’t make it into the final. Because of that, $5+ patrons should expect the full interview as a behind the scenes feature soon after this doc drops later this year. No official release date yet, but I’d love to get this out in the next month or so.

Dark Souls 1 and Fighting Games

What is coming soon is a small video I’ve been working on about how Dark Souls 1 might be an unintentional fighting game tutorial. I’ve had a version of this video in my head for so long that I just want to get it out of my brain and onto the screen. It’s more of a video essay than something like the KOF13 video, so expect something short and sweet. I wanted to get this out before Elden Ring this week, but I’m too slammed with other work to really hit that deadline, so expect it early next week.

That’s all for now, but I’ll hopefully have a BIG update on something I’ve been striving for next month. Stay tuned.

So excited to see all of the upcoming projects, I'm a little biased but I can't wait to see what Phil does for TMNT x Justice League! The Dark Souls video essay sounds intriguing and I've been awaiting the Tough Love Arena video for a while. Thank you again for the opportunity to work with you and Phil! The new logo animates really nicely and I like the general look of it as well, great job!
