Hey all!

ICYMI, last week we released "Long Live The Night", our documentary on the North American Under Night In-Birth scene and people are really digging it. We even made Kotaku! The success hasn't slowed me down though, and after a brief break I'm back working on the videos coming to the channel in the next couple of weeks.

Fight On: The Story of Killer Instinct

This week I'll be sitting down to start going through the interviews I took over the last couple of months for our project on Killer Instinct. We have about 17 interviews spanning anywhere from one to two and half hours long, so there's a ton to go through. That being said, I'm super excited to start putting this all together. Killer Instinct resonates with a ton of people, and the development history behind the original games and the 2013 title are something that really need to be seen to be believed and thankfully, many people were more than willing to help tell their stories. Here's a list of just who you'll see in the feature:

  • Ken Lobb (Microsoft)
  • Adam Isegreen  (Microsoft)
  • James Goddard  (Microsoft)
  • Ernest Yuen  (Microsoft)
  • John Bautista (Double Helix)
  • Brandon Meesak (Double Helix)
  • Adam Heart (Iron Galaxy)
  • Isaac Torres (Iron Galaxy)
  • Maximilian
  • Matt McMuscles
  • Sajam
  • Infil
  • Brandon Alexander
  • Nicky
  • Bass
  • ShinTristan
  • Rip

There might be one or two more additions to this list (I'm trying really hard to sync up with Mick Gordon but lol timezones), but as you can see we've got a real solid lineup here. As for release timing, I'm trying really hard to get it out the week before Combo Breaker, but no promises. I want to do right by the game and its community, so if I have to delay it a little bit than that's what we're gonna do. Wish me luck!

Community Features

To hold you over until that doc's release, however, we've got some smaller features coming in the next couple of weeks. Our first one is a talk with NyxRose of EQNX. We go into her history working in esports and learn about what led her to form her own team. There's a lot of good info about what goes into running a team and what she looks for in sponsoring other players, so be sure to check it out when it releases (aiming for next week)!

I also have features with Woolie, focusing on his efforts on getting more people into fighting games over the years with the Super Best Friends and WoolieVS, as well as Gerald of Core-A-Gaming talking about the history of his channel and opening a new studio in Seoul! Expect those later in March!

Vampire Saviors: Keeping Darkstalkers Alive

I love Vampire Savior. It's one of the few games I still compete in whenever I can and a game I can play sets in for hours (I even have an Evo medal for it). So it's a no brainer for me to do something on the game and its community! This one is still in the planning stages, but I'll be heading to Makai 2020 to interview folks about the series and go into just why people love Darkstalkers. No planned release window for this one just yet, but I'll be sure to keep you posted!

That's all the news for now. I'll be at PAX East this weekend on Friday and Saturday, so if you're going and happen to see me walking around say hi! And as always, I'd love to hear any feedback you have either in the comments below or in our patron discord.

Thanks again for all your support!
