I rather like and prefer paranoid and cynical Melas. I would have loved it if she had honestly given up and walked instead. This is, after all, absolute proof that she really can't trust anyone ever. At least outside of Taw.

Solid agree... Trusting "noble pirates" was silly to begin with, and traveling around the long land way could have held all the opportunities to learn to trust again (with more trustworthy people around)
