For those who didn't replay, look at the alternate Orcents above! Lamsey deserves credit for starting up the project to get alternate images and Annikath helped out with some of the fancy details like custom eyepatches.

Indie Ink Awards

I have been nominated for two categories in something I didn't even know about, the Indie Ink Awards. Specifically, The Brightest Shadow appears in the categories Best Morally Gray Character and Asian Representation by an Asian Author. This one is pure popularity contest, so please consider voting for me in either category (I'm easy to find in the latter, 22nd row midway down in the former). Winning isn't terribly likely, but getting into the top ten finalists would be beneficial, and that's more attainable, particularly in the small category.

Rest

Most years I haven't been able to put out as much in December, whereas this year I released a fairly hefty update. We're most of the way through the month and I'm only just getting out of this release cycle. Often these quieter Decembers means I can hit the ground running with a big update early in January, but that won't be possible this year. I do have some work done on Vhala's quest, but it won't be ready.

I also worry that I won't be going into the new year well-rested, both due to the absence of this quieter period and the addition of various stressors. So I hope everyone will be patient with me if things don't go as quickly as I'd want.

The next two weeks will be holiday update days. I'll still be here, but as per tradition I don't throw too much at people during holidays. Rest assured that I will be working away and you can look forward to some big things!

Voted! Huh, those are not the nominations I'd have expected for TBS, not that I'm criticizing the fans who submitted. I'd love to vote for "Best use of tropes", though this could be applied to anything you do!

Yeah, I have no idea how the nomination process works other than that it used their app in some way. I'm a bit bemused by the entire thing since they just emailed out of nowhere. Anyway, thanks for your vote and your support!

OK, that's kind of creepy if they just somehow find out how to contact you, know your ethnicity, etc. But hey, a little bit of publicity is better than none, I guess? Important thing is someone liked the book and wants to share the news.

Actually, they had to contact me on Reddit to get real contact info, and their message seemed to indicate that they got a lot of false positive nominations. But yes, something is better than nothing!
