I've just realized it's past Monday (here at least), so I might as well write some lines.

Actually, there's not much to tell as you guys have set our path in stone in the last poll. Cenvir and Eri will have their scenes and I'll do everything in my power to release before the month ends.

However, as many of your concerns are related to the need of starting over and over again, I've spent the day in putting together a skip function.

You can use it by speaking to the Holocomputer in your room.

Also, I'm going to try making upcoming versions backwards compatible with older saves, starting from 0.2.1, the one version in which I changed so much internal code. Focus on the "try" word, though.

In all honesty, I can't guarantee a future free of invalid savegames files, but I'll certainly do what I can to minimize those undesired instances.

A skip option is greatly appreciated! Thanks LOK Team!

Sounds amazing! And could it be that the scenes are...with BJ? o3o

Yup, 0.3 will be all about oral pleasures, it seems. ^_^´

IMO retro-save being implemented so early can be counterproductive. Currently all content can be accessed with 5h of gameplay. I think/guess retrosave will be a good idea only after some chapters are fully done what probably will slowly begin to happen around 0.5-0.8

To be honest, the need to start over wouldn't be nearly as bad if the game ran more smoothly. And when I say that, I don't mean optimization or anything like that. What I mean is that there's so much that happens in the game that essentially just wastes a player's time. It takes anywhere between 3 and 6 minutes to get through the day's work (washing the pot and trading favors with Cenvir) depending on how quickly you click through dialogue, and most of that time is unskippable time wasting nonsense. For instance, walking into the hut to go to sleep, or the however many screens it is of dragging the pot. Even more if you actually decide to wash it properly because you drag it under the waterfall. Especially the graphic that shows up about Krystal eating her food. This one is especially egregious because the player will of 100% know whether or not they've done the work to get their food so the unskippable graphic that lasts several seconds really doesn't do anything *except* waste time. The combination of things like this cause the game to be so slow that I end up purposely not completing tasks to not get the food graphic or go through however many more screens of washing pots. The gameplay itself is pretty grindy, and I get that, that's fine. I've played a lot of games like that. Something Unlimited, Rogue-like, Slave Maker to name a few. But the way that half these things play out makes it take absolute ages to get through the game. The supposed "5 hours" of gameplay is less of actual gameplay and more just waiting through these transitions. It sounds whiny, but 3 to 6 minutes to get through what is essentially two already repetitive events is pretty ridiculous. In those other grindy games, I can get through more events than 2 in easily half the time. Now I'm just one person saying this but I feel that many others would appreciate less of this and it might even save yourself some work so you wouldn't have to be coding, animating, and otherwise have to go through the trouble of putting these repetitive transitions into the game. And as an added bonus, people might not mind having to play through the whole game again because it won't take them a mandatory 5 hours just to get up to speed again.

Or not at all depending on how long it takes to implement. You can almost think of us as beta testers. With that in mind we should expect things like having to start over. Now if it's just, say, a 1 hour process to get it backwards compatible? Sure. But if it's going to take weeks I say drop it.

I don't mind if saves aren't retroactive, but a skip button would be nice :)

this makes my Monday better

ahh, so long as there is new content, i'll happily play the whole thing again. no skip needed, though it is nice.

I couldn't agree more. That was my main issue when I asked about save compatiblity in the 0.2.1b build post. The game has a lot time wasters and it would start irritate me if it took me 2-3 hours skipping the same old dialogues over and over again to go back to when I was in previous build. That is situation with only 2 repetitive fetch quests. The problem would be more and more urgent and severe with more quests and storyline added to the game. PS: I also agree "eating" graphic serves no purpose and doesn't improve the flow the game at all.

With skip in the game we don't really need backward compatibility, but it'll be a welcome addition if it does happen :) Skipping would also greatly improve bug testing capabilities, as well as debugging, so good luck!

As long as the skip goes past that terrible quest of meeting everyone in the village
