[Abelius]: Hi there,

If you are a regular visitor of our Discord server, you'll already know it but I'll make it official here: we're releasing this month.

I guess most of you won't be particularly excited about the news, considering how we've been working on this for five months since I took over coding, and even before when we started to work part-time on the project, almost a year ago.

I can't fault anybody who thinks we're slacking off, really. That's not the case, but think about it...: if I, as a developer, have thought in multiple occasions the game would be ready for the following month, failing miserably in my estimations, how you guys would know better unless you're already a published creator or work in something similar...?

Well, v0.1 is not going to be "the game I envisioned" when thinking about a first playable version, but it can't be helped. LOK Rebirth will need to grow steady and slowly, and I need to come to terms with the fact that v0.1 will not be a bomb in the 'h-game amateur market'.

I could write dialogues and script events by the dozens if I just followed the plan we had back one year ago. But I don't want to do that. I could be an amateur at everything I'm doing for the game, but I still want to (try to) steer in the direction of quality instead of quantity.

The video I sent some days ago could be a good sample, but I still felt there was something off, so I've spent the last two days coding the means for making the characters more 'organic'. However, even though I've made the tools for that to happen, now I'll need to follow those good practices in every scene I make.

In other words: I'll be able to make a quest chain once per month if I'm lucky. So we will roll this out and immediately continue the work.

Thanks.

As long as there's something to play people can endure. It's good to know 0,1 is aimed for this month, little hype party unleashed. :D

Well I already think what you have so far speaks volumes as for whats to come. Maybe the lok team is a bit hard on themselves sometimes? Just keep on going and try to have some fun everything will turn out ok

Personally I think ... well the effort given in ... how to say the project (game would be more like this I think) is quite good and good graphic quality, and artistic, which is very good, no need to worry about lack of information or dates things like that, I like their work and I will try to support them financially. A greeting.

I think that everyone understands that you do not have the best working conditions. Therefore, we are understanding with you. We will wait patiently for the release of the game.

What I'm getting from this is after 0.1 and onward you're estimating less monthly content than originally planned. I suppose the question is: what does a single quest chain entail? 5 minutes? 30 minutes? In all I'd expect far more than 1 hour of game play(considering an average of 5 minutes per month of content) after a year of working on a project . I'll wait for that time to come before passing judgement ;).

Well, I don't know if it will reach that amount, tbh. I didn't play the game from the beginning at its current stage. I guess I will in a week when I finally get to testing. However, you should reconsider your estimation. Half of that year was spent working half-time, to only discover one week before the launch date that the game was essentially unplayable (let's say we were three guys back there and now we're two). So this game actually has five months of full-time development by me and Kuja, and the vast majority of that time has been spent putting together internal systems. Playable content, by contrast, has been done in just one month, maybe two. Therefore, what I expect is that you don't need to wait another year for the same amount of content that will be in v0.1. The next update should double that content without taking so much time.
