It’s been three days without an actual status report…

Unfortunately, designing and implementing quests is not something very exciting, unless you want to release some heavy spoilers. And we don’t want that.

So, I’ll whine instead (again, but only a little this time) about my quest of making quests… ?

You know, LoK:Rebirth will be very dialogue driven. That’s typical for every adventure game and this is no different.

So, when I looked for a dialogue plugin I searched for the most flexible and with the best third-party plugin support I could find.

That flexibility, however, came at a cost: the editor is not the most user-friendly I’ve seen… I’ll spare you the details but will suffice to say that I could go at double speed if all the missing features were to be implemented.

Therefore, I’ve been in touch with its author and, surprisingly enough, he told me he will work on updating the thing this week. I don’t know how many of those features he will add, but there is one without I couldn’t launch v0.1 to my full satisfaction… ?

So… while that hard working and supportive author does his thing, I’m switching to my other “skill” for some days: animation.

In fact, there’s a LOT to be done in that department. Sure, we have a lot of sexy animations but… what about more mundane things like… well, I don’t know… our little fox dragging a 200-pound cauldron across the village…? ?

Probably the hardest event I'll implement for v0.1, but I think you'll enjoy it.

do you plan to translate the game into other languages?

kuja

[Abelius]: Not really. This is the kind of question that we could reply with a comfortable "maybe...", to have everyone's expectations high for the time being. But I don't think that translating an amateur game is a good idea for starters. Sure there are a lot of fans that would like to collab for that purpose, but the technical part at localizing the game is not trivial for a number of reasons. It all sums up to the fact that our time is limited and if you're here is because you have some knowledge of English in the first place. The vast majority of people here come from forums in which English is the primary language. Patreon is also English-only... it simply doesn't make sense to devote time for that. It's not like LoK:R will show up at Steam anytime soon, you know... 😏 So, no sorry.

kuja

[Abelius]: Como explico más abajo a nedgang, no, no vamos a traducir el juego, lo siento.

You're doing an awesome job, and we appreciate the updates! Keep being awesome, and thanks for all your hard work!

Any plans on making this game into a app?

kuja

[Abelius]: None, I'm afraid. My skill set is very limited already and I'm using a big amount of resources on the desktop versions already. Sorry.
