Let's Talk - January (Patreon)
Content
As usual, not interested in my ramblings? All good, it's why I only do one of these a month! Enjoy Jeniffer and carry on!
So, 2022, a new year, hopefully with lots of Amazons (well not hopefully, I'll make sure of that!).
So we had a poll a little while back about what kind of content you guys like (and I realized I forgot one of the questions.. but ahh well, we'll get to that!) and it surprised me to see a lot of you were far more interested in longer stories! That's good, cause I love those as well!
One of the things that I feel has been plaguing my Patreon is that I often create these set-ups in my weekly sets that have massive potential to become a bigger, interesting story, only for them to be forgotten and lost because I already want to make so much other stuff. I could understand how this would be frustrating for you guys as well. It also hurts my quality increase, as I often spend months on end making little parts of comics that I started in the past with a quality that I would not consider good now.
To this end I want to make a slight change to the weekly sets, perhaps you already noticed they were slightly different in their wording. I definitely do not want to get rid of them and fully focus on large comics, they're a great testing ground for new techniques or to just throw in something unique every now and then that I'd usually never do in any full sized comic (think for example GTS.. we should have one of those in the next poll again). I want to change them to be fully self contained stories with a beginning and a ending. No cliffhangers or hinting at possible continuations. Just get it out there and end it. So expect that for this month starting tomorrow (which will have a very clear ending!).
Over the past few months the production value of my comics/weekly sets skyrocketed. For example, I'd say that the comic with the highest production value so far was Short & Sweet 2: Meeting Friends (https://www.patreon.com/posts/short-sweet-50856935). Why? Because it was 6 different characters in 10 different scenes. This was an absolute exception, most of my comics are 3/4 characters in only a few or even one scene. The latest Zoo comic was 27 characters in 12 different scenes, of which 4 were created from scratch. That adds time, a lot of time. You can wonder at times if this is worth it, but I think my answer will almost always be "yes" (except for that damned aquarium.. turned out neatly though!). Hannah's story is nothing but pure, raw passion from my side. I have a very clear idea of where her story is going and I want to pursue this story as long as I can.
But let's talk a bit more about the future, both short term and long term!
It is my plan currently to release both Lexi's and Lee's comic this month. Their stories tie a bit together at some point. After that, as decided by some long ago poll, we're going to see Vanessa's story unfold! Vanessa's story will be available to all Patrons. I will also try to make a proper start on the next Hannah comic.
For the Wednesday slot I'd like to fully focus on the Do's and Dont's "universe" so to say. The idea of a world where aprox 0.5 - 1% of the women have turned into Amazons simply has a huge appeal to me. There are a great many stories here that can be told in full sized comics. Due to time limitations I will still release these 10-ish pages every week, but expect far more world building/developed stories! This is why I wrapped up the last two ongoing things on the Wednesdays. The first story will be about the origin of these Amazons.. what event caused so many to appear? Next to that I have a huge list of messages pinned in my suggestion channel on Discord with some amazing ideas that fit in with this universe perfectly! After maybe 1 or 2 comics these comics will also be put to vote (the first few comics are needed simply to establish the universe). These full on comics will also return to the $10 tier as it was with Lexi's / Lee's comic.
Well, this must've been the longest let's talk I ever made. Any ideas? Comments? Thoughts? Always happy to hear them!
