So I wrote this what feels like forever ago, and other than the zine that it was initially published in I don't know that anyone else has ever seen it.

The theme for that issue was "Adventure" and my happy ass decided that was a good idea to do a Choose Your Own Adventure style story.  But not how CYOA normally is in these kinds of stories with different options and polls that determine the direction (no shame in that, just not what I had in mind).

I wanted something akin to the books of my childhood.  Lots of second person. Branching decision tracks that occasionally wound back around.  Dramatic illustrations for key moments.  Good and bad endings.  (Though that's always tricky.  Lots of people here would consider ending up in a crib munching on their toes to be a "good" ending.)

So of course, my wordy ass made something that was almost as big as the rest of the zine combined!

I also got to work with the fantastic @lokiilewd on twitter and their style really meshed with the vaguely creepy vibes I was trying to lay down. They totally understood the assignment and made my job that much easier by letting their art fill in sensory gaps so I could focus on action and emotion oriented  narration.

So if you haven't read/played this one before, take some time out of your day and give it a spin.  Start at the top and scroll down.  There are hyperlinks that lead to your selected choices, so no need to flip through the pages.  But as always, no fair sticking your thumb in a page so you can go back or peaking ahead to make sure you didn't get a game over.  (Let's face it, we've all done it.)
