Not a story.

So I LOVE all the love that Unfair is getting and gets on a regular basis.  I think part of it is because it's an ongoing story.

But please also don't forget to comment (if you feel so led) on other stories posted here, like my Gold Tier stuff or my various commission.

Everything besides Unfair is a commission of some sort.  And many of my commissions are collaborations with folks where I'm trying to bring their stories and ideas to life with my words.

When you're commenting on Unfair, you're commenting on my work.

When you're commenting on pretty much anything else, you're commenting on mine and someone else's collaboration and I bet they'd feel really good to know that people are reading and enjoying their ideas, too.

Like Areat (who I don't mind naming since they wanted their name mentioned at the beginning of each installment) put a good deal of work and oversight into The Rip.  A lot of the characterization and suggestions came from them and they were a true editor.  Not just "that's a typo" type stuff, but also "Can we change this take on the character, here? It doesn't quite feel right" kind stuff.

It was a true  ongoing discussion about facilitating and bringing their idea to life.

I've had many people who do that in their commissions too.

Other commissioners read what I write and are more or less happy right off the bat.  All that means is I got their idea right the first time.

And because a lot of them are shorter or one shots, I also feel more free about responding to comments because I'm in no danger of accidentally leaking spoilers.

A fair amount of people comment on these other stories too, but not in here. Someone told me how stoked they were about the Role Reversal in Dynamic Switch or how they related to Wendy in the Rip or how New Narnia is still their favorite ongoing.

It only just now occurred to me that with so many of these comments, they're only coming to places that I alone can see, and the people whose ideas I wrote aren't seeing all the love either.

So this is just a friendly reminder.  "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"  BUT, "If you have something nice to say, don't be afraid to share that kindness with everyone."

Thanks in advance for the positivity we put out here in our little corner of the internet,

Personalias

Edit: And just in case I'm not being clear, this is in no way me trying to be ungrateful or criticize y'all.  Y'all are wonderful. This is just me trying to put a little positivity out there and encourage people to do the same where they can.  Nothing more or less.

If ya can't, or you don't feel like you have anything to say, that's perfectly fine.  Or if it's not your thing, also cool.  Not everything is for everybody.

Just don't be afraid to say something nice if you see something nice.

Positivity is a good thing.

I'm going to try to do better with this too. Most often, I read the story in the email sent from Patreon, and I don't always click through to the post here to make comments.

I liked The Rip. It was definitely an interesting story. I am one of those people that if I like a story then I comment but if I don’t like it I will usually not. Might be someone else’s preference and I don’t want to cause the writer to feel disheartened at writing, especially if it is a first attempt.
