Yes this album was mbb's favs when it came out but when this is compared to the newer ones where members are taking over almost all of the album productions and showing off how they have matured in terms of musicality, you will feel like this will somehow be lacking since we are now used to listening to jh, im and hw's touch in music. HOWEVER, lok, if you ever do watch FALLIN and LOST IN THE DREAM stages, you will definitely fall in love again because, for me, when they came out, i did not like them that much but after seeing those live stages, they have became my most fav songs in this album. FATAL LOVE is a masterpiece but you still havent listened to ARE YOU THERE and WE ARE HERE albums too, they have very great bside tracks because these two albums are in the transition phase from THE CONNECT to FATAL LOVE, you know what i mean, those albums have the best of both worlds for me.

I have a lot to say hahahaha... I feel like a lot of Monbebe (especially older ones) love this album because those songs hold extra special place in our hearts. A lot of us prefered Destroyer over Jealousy for the title track in the beginning. Lost in The Dream is like... almost every Monbebe favorite Monsta X song of all time - the bridge is definitely the most loved Monsta X bridge + that clip of Kihyun singing it acappella was viral back in the day - that's why someone said that it's a famous kpop clip. For me personally Destroyer and Lost in the Dream are in my top 5 Monsta X songs in general still. Also we get super emotional with If Only because of the lyrics and the way Wonho wrote it thinking about the future and the anxious feeling of wanting to be there with Monbebe for a long long time. He actually wanted to write a song about death, but then reconsidered it because it can be a touchy subject and we got this. It was also an ending song for their 2018 tour and it just makes me cry hahaha... And then there's Fallin' which is like one of the trademark party songs for Monsta X and they always performed it on concerts after the album was released - that's one of the songs that mark the true wild party part of the concerts and everyone goes crazy. Speaking of concerts I think some time in the future once you're like done with the discography and all the other stuff you planned for Monsta X we should watch a Monsta X concert together... that's an experience hahahahaha... Also, Special has an MV - like one of those self-cam MVs, but I know we'll get to that when you do another deep dive thingy hahahaha... Okay, I feel like I said everything I had to say regarding this album, but yeah, I truly think those are all the reasons Monbebe hold this album up there in their list of favoritees. My other favorites are probably Are You There, We Are Here, Follow, Guilty (Fighter album) and Beautiful - I mean I became a Monbebe after Beautiful because I was so in love with that album that I was like 'it's about time you get into Monsta X, you've been delaying it enough' hahaha... so yeah, I'm looking forward to see what album will be next. Thanks for the reaction as always, Lok, I'm a bit sad I wasn't on twitch for this one, but I'm glad you had a fun time hehehehe

Thank you, I was really looking forward to this one! My pick for fave would be ‚Lost in the Dream‘ (it‘s just too good) but I love the entire album. And ‚Special‘ is even older: Jooheon has worked on it originally since around their debut time, so that sound goes all the way back to 2015 😅

not sure if you’re gonna see this lok since i’m hella late but if you liked the dark vibes of lost in the dream then you’ll definitely love Underwater and Myself from the Are You There album! i really hope your next mx album listen will be to Are You There, it’s a no skip for me!!

I’m so late, but man the more forward in time we go, the more I find myself to start looking back on their albums with the rose-tinted shades 😅 I think this was my 4th comeback with them (counting shine forever) and I remember it being such a fun and fresh era. Jealousy wasn’t my absolute fav but now I appreciate it sooo much and sing the chorus half to death lol Crazy in Love still gives me hella butterflies when I listen to it, Special was a constant fav for a while, LIND is super epic and emotional and Destroyer? I remember how hard I was waving my light stick to it at the tour that summer 🤣 If only was probably my favorite wh track back then (From Zero is the most memorable but Mirror is definitely my favorite of his old stuff now). Can’t wait to see what you think of the older stuff the more you go back in their discography 👀
