I almost felt bad for Mard Geer. Zeref was merely curious if He and his plan would succeed, hence why he did not interfere. He then disregarded his own creation and killed him without a second thought. Zeref is about as ammoral as you can get. Battle in the Sky. Igneel vs Acnologia. The Winner, Acnologia. RIP Igneel, but at least he took a piece of Acnologia with him. With Tartaros completely destroyed and its members dead or completely powerless, The Baram Alliance is now brought to a permanant demise, END's summoning was prevented, and The Dark Guilds will likely fight amongst each other over who succeeds the old powers for some time before any of them become a viable problem. Acnologia and Zeref have made it known they are both the biggest threats to Earthland. We're at the endgame now! Next episode concludes The Tartaros arc and then you move on to a segway story known as Fairy Tail: Zero which is a short 12 episode arc about Mavis Vermillion. I also hope you catch the post credits scene of next episode as it contains important information.
