This is new territory for me, since I only saw a small DVD collection of the series when I was growing up. (Don't worry, I'm watching the episodes before I watch your reactions). It was interesting to see Alfred end up in harms way. I mean we saw that in The Last Laugh. Where he was exposed to Joker's laughing gas. But this is the first time where he's directly caught up in a villain's plan. Also it's interesting to see Alfred with a girlfriend. I've never seen that before, all the portrayals of him I've seen. Portray him as a sort of eternal bachelor, with no real life outside of his loyal service to Bruce Wayne/Batman.
