I have not read the manga so it might explain it better, but it felt odd that Muichiro got such a big power boost (most likely having something to do with his bloodline/markings) that allowed him to basically one shot Upper 5 seemly pretty easily. In comparison, in the fight against the Upper 6, it took the Hashira Tengen, supported by his three ninja wives + the trio of Inosuke, Tanjiro and Zenitsu all just barely clinching a win while suffering near fatal wounds in the process and Tengen losing a hand. Just felt odd at how different the fights ended up being. Upper 4 made a bit more sense in that his power is not necessarily being super strong, he's just ridiculously hard to kill as he's basically invincible unless you are aware of his main body's existence and are able to find/kill it while also dealing with his secondary bodies.

It does explain it and it's not a big spoilers, if they want a better higher rank they have to fight a higher rank and beat them, if they don't feel like doing it, they just stay where they're at. Gyotaro just cared about dabi, he didn't care to fight the upper 5, so he stayed at 6

Muichiro's smile/grin when he is on the tree is awesome! After he has spend so much time with basically no emotions because of what happened when he was 11. Now that the mist in his mind has cleared, he is super strong. (Well he was strong before, now he is stronger and more focused) Also the fish-"artist" demon was way too talkative, might have faired better if he focused on fighting instead of talking 😂
