I REALLY enjoyed this look back at Tamaki and Kyoya's origins! What a well-written, emotionally spot-on episode!

I completely agree, this probably is the best episode of the anime, Kyoya and Tamaki are such fantastically complex character in the series, and a lot of their backstory is only really touched on at the end, Bisco Hatori is a great writer. Kyoya is a bit twisted, but it makes complete sense given his background. This episode also kind of shows how relaxed and close he's gotten around Haruhi as well, if you remember a while back he was on a date with Haruhi and showed his more casual and nasty side a bit, instead of being gentlemanly and formal, he's only shown it to Tamaki and his sister, people he feels comfortable with. I've said it before but I really hope the rest of the manga gets adapted one day.

As much as I love the twins' storyline, this is my absolute favorite episode. All of it is fantastic, but the scene where Kyoya finally snaps is usually the first thing that comes to mind when I look back at this show, and the scene where they pull back to see the bigger flower made out of the fumes from the paint always gives me chills.
