Hello Patrons! Hope you're all doing well and enjoyed the holiday season.

As we were saying before Toronto is in a lockdown so things are a little strange at the moment. We've decided to play it safe and we're going to resume our band bubble for work purposes starting the week of Jan 11th which means that the Livestream Q & A will be a little late this month! Once we're all in the clear we will announce the date and time for you all!

Since we are all spending a little more time at home we've decided that each member of the band will be making a video from their own space over the next week so we can share with you what's been going on during lockdown for us.

Rainbow thought it would be cool to have you ask him a few questions and he'll make a response video from his place! So please leave your questions in the comment section here and he'll be by to check them out soon!

Happy new year everyone and thanks so much for being here with us!

Hey Rainbow! Hope you're doing well in this lock down. I would like to know how guys deal with your creative process during this time we're living now. Thanks and stay safe! A "hello" from Brazil!

Hey Rainbow! I would like to ask how you come up with most of your music tunes. Does it start in your head, for example, or do you have to be physically playing with instruments/programs before something comes to you?

Rainbow!! Hi :) When preparing for live shows how much do songs change from the album version to what is played live and what determines the changes?

Hi Rainbow! When you’re writing music are you always thinking about how it can be used for The Birthday Massacre, or do you explore writing for other projects or even just for yourself? Do you feel like the music you write has to fit a certain “Birthday Massacre aesthetic” or do you trust that it will fit in with the other music as you collaborate with your bandmates? Thanks and hope you’re keeping well!

Hi Rainbow! In what ways has your songwriting evolved over your career, especially in the last 3 or 4 years?

Who decides which songs are made into videos, and how are the songs chosen?

Play any good video games lately? :)

Hello Rainbow, is there new stuff spurred from the Diamonds sessions (or earlier naughty riffs/ideas) that you and the band can share in vids in the near future?

Any chance of some bizarre Carly Rae Jepsen collaboration?

hi rainbow! do you have any new years resolution for 2021? (also happy 2021!!)

Hello, Mr. Rainbow! Here's a question for you: Will you give your lovely Krystal a big hug from me? :) Love you guys. ~ Toni

My question for Rainbow: Did it ever happened to you that you wrote the musical part of a song and after the lyrics have benne added it turned out to be completely different in terms of evoking certain emotions? Like you felt this and that while composing and the finished song has a different emotional vibe to it?

Guitar questions for Rainbow: Is there a story around how you acquired your black Fender Jaguar? Is it a "Made In Japan (MIJ)" exclusive? In addition to your touring guitar, is this Jag also your studio guitar? What about it makes it the right guitar for you? Thank you!

Hi, Rainbow! Imagine you’re the last person on earth. What’s the first thing you do?

Hi Rainbow, hope you and Krystal are doing well 😁 Has this pandemic inspire you to create TBM music/lyrics? How?

Hey Rainbow...have you & falcore ever thought about publishing a guitar tab book? you could ask the fans for input, then publish the top10-15 songs...just an idea! peace & blessings :-)

Hi Rainbow! Do you use computer programs or apps, to piece together early stages of songs before hitting the studio to lay down official tracks?

Hi Rainbow! What was first gig that you attended?

Hi, very interested in trying the DADDAD tuning you mentioned in you 2014 studio walkthru, you said you replace string 3 with the same gauge as that of string 4, do you keep strings 1 & 2 as original gauging? i.e. my usual setup is 10, 13 17, 26, 36, 46, would DADDAD be 10,13,26,26,36,46 or 13,17,26,26,36,46? A bit more of a demo of the cool things you can do with DADDAD would also be great:) Also interested in you opinion of the best DAWs.

Hi Rainbow! Is there something that inspires you when writing music or does it just come to you? I hope you and Krystal are doing well. Take care and thanks for answering our questions!

Hi! What process goes into writing music and is there ever a theme that you want to touch on, but haven't gotten to, yet?

Anonymous

This might be a pretty niche question, but I remember in the videos that lead up to the release of Superstition on pledgemusic, there was a recording of Diaries that was called 'Divide' - was that a mistake or were they once the same song? Of course I also might just be remembering it wrong lol

Two questions; where is your favorite place you've travelled to and which TBM song are you most proud of having made?

Hey Rainbow! Question! Is there a chance that transition songs like Red and Black on the album Violet will be created for future songs? I don't know if its just me but I really really enjoy the transitionary songs from the song blue, to black, to holiday. It was a genius thing to do and the last time an instrumental like that was made was in the album Superstition - Trinity. But that was not a transition song.

Diamonds has helped immensely to keep me sane in 2020, what did you spend lockdown listening to?

Have you ever considered returning to old demos and turning them into complete songs?

What are your thoughts on "3D" music? Is it just a gimmick or is there genuinely somewhere interesting to go with it? Are there any plans to remaster older material as UHD or 3D?

Hi, 2 questions. Would you ever consider releasing the master tracks (not sure of the technical name but NIN did it about 10 years ago) so we could fully appreciate the layering? Also, ever think about an 80's cover album to hold us over between main albums? TBM has a great way of incorporating some 80's nostalgia in the songs...would love to hear your take on Cry Little Sister, It must have been love,ect.....thanks!

Hey Rainbow!!!! Could you tell us a bit about the equipment you use? effects pedalboard, amplifiers.... Why did you choose the Fender Jaguar HH Special as your live guitar? It would be great to be able to listen your master tracks (guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, vocals ...) Thanks a lot. :-)

Not sure if it's too late to post on this so...I know one video went over what book you were currently reading, but I'm curious how you are staying busy during lock downs. Any new favorite movies, shows, etc you've discovered. I've heard so many stories of people learning to paint, cook, etc. Any new talents you've acquired? Any activities you've gotten back into while staying home?
