I don't know why anyone would express distrust this late at Alastor. He's never been Charlie's friend - he's out for himself and the Princess of Hell is a useful tool for him down the road (he's already secured a vague favour from her which has no real limits beyond "Not hurt anyone") especially since we know someone else hold's his leash. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a later season villain (or supporting villain for whatever big bad comes if he can't get his freedom first). Vaggie getting her wings back when she thinks about fighting for the person she loves makes sense if Angels are truely meant to be virtuous beings by nature. Maybe down the road we'll see her with a few more angelic powers - I'm not convinced Adam had the authority to make her truly fallen in the first place. Regardless great reaction - can't wait to see the Finale one!

Here's the tea on Charlies' hooves, the reason Alastor smiles, and Vaggies wings. Charlies' horns came from her mom Lilith. Because when Lilith fell, she embodied a demon form. But Charlies' hooves came from her father Lucifer. The imagery of a goat is synonymous with the devil aka Lucifer, it would make sense that part of Charlies' demon form are those hooves... Not sure if it's still canon but as a child Alastor was severely abused with scars covering his whole body except his face. Although nowhere near the level or as gruesome as Alastor, but speaking from personal comparable experience, a smile can hide the deepest of sorrows, that sometimes the illusion of happiness is all you have... In Ep. 4 when Husker was revealing everyone BS confessed to him by everyone's drunken rants, he reveals that Vaggie hates herself and judges everyone. It seems the angels in Hazbin Hotel are similar to the angels on the TV show Lucifer. Angels self-actualize, when angelic parts of themselves are lost intentionally or not, it reflects their inward self so when Vaggie dropped her self-hate and judgyness and focused on love, as well as whom she loves her self-actualization restored her wings.
