Little Flames: chapter 0 - update (6) (Patreon)

I'm sorry for the wait! I've got the comic update for you! At the moment I have fully sketched 26 pages, the final stretch is here!

This update was delayed by a whole week because I've run into some difficulties. This chapter started growing way bigger than I thought it would be so I was trying to shorten some stuff two weeks ago. However, this has only slowed me down even more, doing that didn't feel right, and eventually I could see why - I was trying to shorten things up by sacrificing character moments. For some time my brain was in the mode "just show the events, quickly, chop-chop", which is very harmful to storytelling in my eyes. So I stopped working on the comic for several days and just let myself think. 

And I decided that I'm gonna let the comic be as big as it needs to be, to draw out everything properly. I am already horribly late, and looking back I feel like such a naive fool, thinking I'd be able to push out this densely packed comic like my usual airy fluff, lol. I don't get to draw scenes with 7 + characters in, I don't draw action scenes often, so these things really made this more challenging. So now I'm just gonna say - this comic will take more time. 

I'm sorry I filled you with hope that I could finish it within a month - this was me greatly overestimating myself after having finished one little shower comic where nothing really visually complicated is even going on. 

I'm not making excuses, I simply feel you've got the right to know about this. This comic really exposes me to all of my weaknesses as an artist - and that's not a bad thing because I will learn from this, I will get better. 

Allow me to share a couple of pages I like, without too many spoilers.

I will keep working on this and I will finish it, I'm very close to the ending right now. The work on this will probably take another month.
