Eunchae’s word was “eonnie” which is what girls call older girls they’re close to, and since Eunchae is the youngest she adds eonnie at the end of all of their names. She doesn’t even have to use their actual name and sometimes can just call them eonnie granted they know which one she’s talking to. So yeah she was doomed from the start in this game 😂

Oh also, since you mentioned Korean food, you moved to Seattle, right? There’s a popular Korean restaurant in University District called Korean Tofu House, and I used to really like their kalbi and soups. The service isn’t great at a lot of the family-owned Asian restaurants (in that they sometimes forget about you) but you kinda just accept it if you don’t speak their language 😅 If it’s not too far away, you should consider checking it out!

Loved this! I love how much they double down on repeated rounds of simple games or contests. Korean curry basically is Japanese curry, I don't think there's any Korean curry tradition from before the 20th century. My family always had a box of Japanese curry powder ready in a pinch! And "sundae" or soon-dae has got to be one of most unfortunate/hilarious romanization coincidences-- tasty stuff but it's Korean blood sausage. In this case topped not with sprinkles but with offal

Nice! There’s tons of good places to eat in Seattle so I hope you find some places you like! I live in Japan now and I personally miss the Thai food I used to get over there

Yeah it has a touch of that for sure. But it's lighter than like a Western European blood sausage I think, as the Korean version is usually generously mixed with potato noodles or rice noodles before being encased

I think the translator had a bit of a crisis in episode 7, of how to communicate that Eunchae’s word has to be said every time she addresses someone. So they went with ‘your names’. Whereas I think just assuming that someone who is watching the 7th episode of a girl group’s variety show is aware of the word ‘unnie’ and just putting it in the subs like that might have been a less confusing way to do it.
