i m one of the people that commented under that XG video, my point wasnt to invalidate your feeling about the raps, I do think this is something that has to change in kpop but ppl are eating it up. I was just a bit disappointed that you ranted over that through the whole reaction when there s so much more to the song, girls, and performances. Not saying you don't feel the same way about that pink venom rap. I don't think you're on our Discord maybe, but we discussed how the same thing relates to BP. For a few of us, it comes down to the particular tone that makes it more glaring. It at least does for me. I try to give every group a chance and regardless of feedback I'll keep doing the same for XG. Obviously they're very talented and there are aspects of the music I really enjoy. They have some amazing vocalists! That's what these comment threads are for though. If you don't feel like I was being fair enough, that's totally valid. Thank you for responding in a measured way. 😊

Glad to see you back! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to let you know that your XG reaction prompted me to dive deeper into the group (I was dismissive), and I now genuinely appreciate who they are and what they do. I think what needs to be understood is that you are a K-Pop purist, and that's perfectly o.k. I kind of see them as a bridge group. They will bring more global fans to the industry. And I like that.

XG announced that a documentary would be out very very soon and that they had 5 years worth of filming (since XG as a group trained for 5 years together, if i got this right the lineup was decided in 2017, but some trainees such as jurin trained since 2015) this is some pretty exciting content regardless of the group so i hope this is on your radar :)) very unrelated to the discussion but i wanted to share

Big rant about TXT coming up because I wanna drag you into our fandom! TXT’s storyline has always been about not wanting to grow up and most fans would probably say their concept is a mix of Peter Pan and Harry Potter if you wanna make a western reference. I would suggest you watch ’Nap of a star’, ’Magic Island’ and ’Eternally’ they are pretty long but you will notice the storyline better there I think. Also to understand the storyline a bit better it might be a good idea to watch the animation ’The Dooms Night’. Just remember though that just like a Marvel movie, Big Hit don’t like to release stuff in order so I would check out Lana Sunflower’s video to understand a bit better maybe. I really like TXT's 'Temptation' album, all of the B sides are pretty different from each other now that I think about it 🤔 My fave off of that EP is 'Devil by the Window' 100%, I've been listening to it pretty much every day since it came out lol.

Great selection, plenty of my favorites in this - STAYC medley, DC, WJSN, Fifty Fifty 🤩 I guess I'll take a minute and shill/inform a bit about that last one - yes, Keena's 20 and the other three are all 18. So quite old by 2022 debut standards? 😂 Saena's (smol brunette leader) 19th birthday is in a few days though. The group name meaning is actually 50% dreams and 50% reality, or the combination of hopeful ideals and the hardship of reality. They have a sort of storyline as well, though it's vague - Cupid's a prequel to Lovin' Me, as was hinted at by that ending scene with Sio in Cupid. They have their own variety show called Fifty Company, which starts off as kind of a hiring skit, but turns into a very chill, wholesome few episodes. They're also doing a behind the scenes series for Cupid right now, which is very well produced. It reminds me of PIXY TV a bit but more focused on their album prep. There's three episodes of that out now (prologue + 2 regular eps). Both series are great for getting to know them a bit. When Cupid hits 5M views, we're getting a "bungee jumping adventure" too which I'm excited about. 😅
