MRIs do allow some metals! I've got a ventriculoperitoneal shunt (valve system that goes from my brain ventricles that deal with spinal fluid to the area outside the intestines) to deal with hydrocephalus, and it's made of a mix of titanium, silicon, and other things. The titanium is MRI safe up to a certain strength :) though I am not allowed in some machines, and it creates a bit dark spot on the scan where it blocks the magnet haha!
