Hello!

So as it's (only just) May, I'm guessing it's about time for the April Patroncast, and it's a very special one indeed, as this will be the first ever Patroncast from the new MATN HQ, so there will be plenty of IRL updates.

Just in case you're new, the Patroncast submission thread is where you get to ask questions, suggest topics, or express shock that the MATN HQ move actually bloody happened.

So ask away, and I'll update this post when the Patroncast is recorded, so as long as there isn't an edit below saying that, everything should be good :)

EDIT - We are indeed now recorded, so further questions cannot be included. We're hoping to have this released around May 12th.

All the best,

Jon

I was recently watching your fallout IV 2 part essay, and something came to my while watching your part about your characters backstory, being a solider or lawyer. Now the question of how that effects roleplay and people wanting their character to be fairly blank slates at the begining is another talk for another time, but I just thought of something that I think could of being huge, what if your characters were involved in a major army scandal, like the husband spilled the secrets on a secret and immoral army experiment, and the wife got involved as his defender, and through this interaction they actually got married? That in itself would be so cool, and maybe you could even dig into it more in the actual game? Or maybe if your not sure you want your characters to be so good, you could have something a bit like the Tyanny system, where maybe you can make choices, like what you did during the experiments, whether you stayed loyal to the army and so on. Like there are a lot of things that can be done with a set backstory

Sorry for commenting a 2nd time but just found about the fallout broken city mod for new vegas (that adds a load of new quests and stuff). What are your thoughts on it? Excited or tentative (don't want another frontier fiasco haha)

Honestly, I agree - I reckon a more fleshed out series of vignettes leading into Apocalypse Day would have been a much stronger opening for Fallout 4 - letting you roleplay a character a bit more, and build your relationship with your partner a bit more.
