Hi Guys!

This week I continued my journey in learning python. I found two great tutorials on medium and they have really helped me understand the basics of sims4 python. For those of you who are interested, here are the tutorials: June Hanabi python tutorial part 6  LeRoiDeTout Sims4 tuning 101 I already finished the one by June Hanabi and Im taking my time going through the one by LeRoi right now. It's alot to take in at once, but I plan on reading it multiple times until it makes sense lol

Thank you everyone who commented on my last modding diary. I read every single one of your comments and it became clear the most popular votes were: Midwife career, NICU, and More pregnancy interactions. After some consideration, I have decided to go for More pregnancy interactions next, here are my reasons:💟

NICU and longer hospital stays has always been something I want to make, but I need to learn python first before I can do it in the most optimized way.

Midwife/Obstetrician active career is a massive undertaking, Id like to have sims study for their midwife/obstetrician certificate, and pass an exam before they can perform residency, and after they complete their residency they will then be able to become a certified midwife/obstetrician. I will need to make a number of new interactions for the active career since the interactions I have right now (such as pitocin, pap smear, ultrasound, blood test.etc) will become repetitive very quickly. This will be very exciting for me to work on, however I still really want to learn python, and I feel like if I were to work on this update I would quickly become overwhelmed and end up ditching python once again to get the update finished on time, which is what happened last time🥲.

So Ive decided to go for more pregnancy interactions for now. It's a lot easier comparing to making an active career and it will allow me to still have time to learn python at the same time. Some of the things I'd like to make are:

  • Eating Ice chips during labor to reduce contraction pain
  • Having partner sim/nurses bring food during early labor
  • Having partner sim offer comfort/reassurance during early labor
  • Giving partner sims a small chance to pass out during c-section
  • Rabbit hole Lamaze classes, but couples can practice what they learned at home 
  • Being able to pick specific midwife to assist birth

I love this!! What about an option to measure the belly? Or make a belly cast? Sims feel belly because baby is kicking? Sims can kiss belly? Braxton hicks contractions? Either way, I love all of your work!! Looking forward to the update!

All of that sounds amazing!! I can't wait for the next update. Ice chips was one of the best part of being in labor for me lol. The idea of going to classes would be great as well. Thank you for this! Time all the time you need on other updates. ❤️

Exciting!! All this sounds great. It's not an interaction per say, but one thing that I would love to see in this general vein is features that were in the "pregnancy variations" mod that appears to have been abondoned. Different belly sizes based on number of babies and variation in pregnancy length so you really don't know exactly when the baby will be born. A true interaction would be certain foods causing nausea, that's so common in early stages, and a chance for morning sickness beyond the first trimester.

I absolutely love what you do! Something id love is if you could integrate the birth mod with the active doctor career. So when you sims come to the hospital in labor, they use the realistic birth and your sim can be the doctor that brings the little ones into the world 💜

What an amazing modder you are!!! I love everything you have done. I know the sims can have miscarriages but what about stillbirths and other sims meeting their end in the delivery room? Just a dark little idea from my dark little corner over here. <3. Hope I don't offend anyone.

Definitely agree. Take the time to learn what you're passionate about. As far as interactions, definitely more labor interactions (swaying alone, cool rag to the head, hip squeezes, supported squats, sidelying with the peanut pillow...if possible) For pregnancy, craving moodlets/whims to eat a craving, cream/oil to the belly. I love the lamaze rabbit hole idea, or even a parenting class/mom and baby rabbit hole.

RPO has the birthing class rabbit hole it always bugged me that’s all it was. They couldn’t do anything with it back home.

Thank you for all the hard work and time you dedicate. You truly have an amazing talent. If it's not to much I would love to see lactation consultants, maybe Braxton Hicks, pregnancy massage,aybe a lottle.more interactions for the papsmear and ultrasound like maybe blood pressure check or fetal heart rate monitors. Just some suggestions that you may consider.

An interaction you can use either now or when you are creating the midwife career path is administer a Rogham shot. (something I had to do). Maybe you already have it, I haven't played with it for a little while and am just getting updated now. Possibly adding in a little bit of post pardum if you can.... like a slight chance of post pardum depression, baby blues, that kind of thing, especially if they didn't want the baby in the first place. Sad, but it happens and would make the game more realistic, great for storytelling... partners can comfort and ask for them to seek counseling that kind of thing. Maybe make it a little more difficult to get the hang of breastfeeding (this was a challenge for me, I know!). Lactation consultants (saw this in a previous posting, great idea). Love your mods!

this is so awesome, i absolutley adore this mod <3 some pregnancy interactions id love to see are delivery partner interactions. such as laying in the bed with them during early labor or siting by their side during pitocin.

Food cravings/heartburn, maybe an interaction where a pregnant sim's family member can do the ring test to tell if the baby is a boy or girl.

I love the idea of the fainting partner. I would love to have more options during pregnancy too. Like comforting with special massages, more cuddeling options, on sofa or something. I would also appreciate if you include more symptomes, like short breath, peeing, and so on.

You’re really one of my favorite modders ! The dedication, passion and perseverance you have is just incredible. I was so amazed when you first gave us the mod, but you’re outdoing yourself with each update ! Take your time learning python, don’t stress too much. Please don’t forget to also take care of yourself. Rather you taking more time to get the active career done the way you want it (btw love what you planned for it) than giving us something you won’t be too content with. For the interaction would it possible to also add a mean or malicious interaction (depend on the impact on the relationship) for the pregnant sim to tell their partner ? Like : “look what you did to me”, “it’s all your fault” and “shut up” or “keep quiet” ? And after the birth they can give a heartfelt apology or just blame it on the hormones lol Just to spice it up a bit. Thank you for everything !

More birth positions, more complications such as "the birth is not progressing" and therefore a vacuum delivery or episiotomy is needed. And I really really hope that this works out with the active career. That would be my favorite! :)

I would love to see more prep for pregnant sims like choosing OB prior to the birth. Like if my sims are interested in having a baby they can go to the hospital and have sperm count check and make sure everything is okay. Even sit down with three providers and ask questions. It would cute if sims you know with kids can have a interaction like “who was your provider” and have several different outcomes like “my doctor was (sims name) he was great” or “my provider has since retired but I heard sims name is just as good. And even some negative comments. Pregnant sims and their partners should be able to call the doctor they selected and get reassurance if they get the “scared or anxious about baby” buff. Omg and this would be super cute(probably make me cry) if sims after having a natural birth must stay at the hospital for another day and c section 2 days or until they poop(like real life). Your doctor/a nurse should come and check up on the pregnant sims(checking vitals) and then get a message with how the sim is doing) they can even go the (hospital bassinet) and check up on baby(but we can use interaction we already have with the sims) but get a notification about the baby. It would be super cute too if(vision it with me) though babies are objects you can click and get a interaction like by

Bond with baby and mom will lay on the bed and the baby will spawn in mom hands and she can lay the baby on her chest and she will sing to baby( the baby will still be in the bassinet because they are only objects) but once the interaction is over the baby will disappear from moms hands and she will get a buff and relationship boost. Then an interaction from dad/partner for the same interaction buttttt if the sim has the clumsy trait when mom goes to lap back she will call the partner over to hold the baby. She will sit up and hand the baby over gently to the partner however their could be a cute animation where the partner may look unsure(because of the clumsy trait) however mom will reassure and hand the baby to him kinda like the bed birth animation but dad will be standing and once he holds the baby in his hand he will take a deep breath and even wipe a tear from his eye. And get a buff like “I can do this” or “my beautiful baby”…panda!! I’m tearing up just thinking about it

Yessss I love it all omg 😍 , you are amazing at what you do !!! And ooou another thing you can add in is letting the couple sleep together in the hospital bed or maybe nap together 😮‍💨… and they reduce stress and contraction pains… and yes kissing while in labor to reduce contraction pain also 👀

i would love to see the sims think that they a pregnant. where before they find out that they are pregnant that they have signs. such a morning sickness, mood changes, missed periods, and can also go to the dr to find out they are pregnant and not just take a test. more of an interaction of the sims talking about starting a family.

I would also like to see more birth emergencies like shoulder dystocia, or placental abruption and at a pregnancy check-up to see if there is a chance the baby is too big to deliver naturally, in the wrong position, or if there's placenta previa. I also think it would be cool if Sims could have some breastfeeding mood like cracked nipples, and clogged ducts. I also think we should be able to have our sims tested for group B strep and if it's positive they need antibiotics before they deliver, as well as the need for a blood transfusion or having sims tear if they deliver naturally. Also maybe being able to buy breast milk from the milk bank for sims who adopted and or have low supply and maybe an electric breast pump?

you can already adjust the amount of milk your sims produces. probably wouldn't need a milk bank. you can also choose whether your sim can produce milk or not.

Thanks as always for your contributions to the sims franchise. It would be nice fore more family assistance (allow the kids to get involve), foot massage, rocking on the wall, relaxing in tub with mate, sitting with mate when they are on the drip.

1st off, your is amazing!! It's really enhanced my game play! One thing I would love to see is multiple support people. So a sim could have their partner and their mom at the birth.

i would love to see some post partum stuff like sims going through a healing process after birth! i think it would really tie the whole experience together :) and maybe more interactions for the sims partner to do while your sim is in active labor? my sim recently had a birth emergency and i made her partner sit in the room with her but it would be cool if they could comfort their parents during the experience or maybe even more moodlets! either way, im loving the way the mod is developing! 🤍🤍

This is amazing!! It’s so so great to see how far the sims game have come. I would love to see more complications with the pregnancy such as Still born, Ectopic pregnancy’s, more surprise births doctor says one baby and you birth multiple. Although we have mods that can determine can we have where the doctor can tell if they have a disability or not. Hope so am not offending anyone with my suggestions. These are personal for me.

Could it be a possibility that some pregnant women do not get nausea at all, some have extreme nausea and vomit all the time (and may have to be hospitalized), others have nausea and vomit throughout the pregnancy. And maybe also if a pregnant woman is expecting twins and maybe loses one twin during the pregnancy and only gets 1 in the end

Hi! I think more options for pain management during labor would be awesome (like pain medication, Nitrous Oxide, etc) There was a time or two during labor where I had to have oxygen for a little bit. Maybe in the last trimester a Sim could experience Braxton Hicks contractions or have "false labor" where they are sent back home from the hospital?

I thought of another one. In later stages an interaction to help a sim shave their legs or help them up. That's super common, so much so Katverse has a pose pack related to it. It would be cool to gameplay those things as well. https://katverse.com/2019/09/14/the-other-side-of-pregnancy-pose-pack/

I would love if kids and teens could ask about the pregnancy to their parents and maybe even labour if they are having a home birth or there. Like “when will the baby come?” “I have a name idea!” “Did you eat the baby?”

I would love to have more prenatal checkups with updates on the baby and in the third trimester have updates on the position of the baby, if the baby needs to be turned, signs of early labor, false labor or if the baby will go past the due date which would cause them to be induced. Maybe include an estimated due date. More variety of ultrasound pictures. After the baby is born, if you choose to breast feed maybe have a chance where the baby doesn’t latch. Thanks again for all of your hard work, you have definitely made the Sims way more exciting. I can’t wait to see what else you come up with.

I don't know how difficult it would be but maybe having mom do a glucose test? And any other major tests that are taken during pregnancy. And maybe prenatal gummies for mom to take during pregnancy. maybe even false pregnancy test? Just some little ideas
