I decided to make posts about my original characters (OC). To be more precise: How I chose their names.
This time I'll explain the name origin of Vilkheim Farkason and Filo Dosavar.

I'll start with Vilkheim, whose nickname is Vil.
His name is inspired by nordic mythology and twin brothers from Skyrim.

In nordic mythology a great tree connects all worlds. The home world of the giants is called "Jotunheim". Since Vil is a giant let's keep the "heim" in mind.

Now we dive into the world of Skyrim, where we meet the twin werewolf brothers Farkas and Vilkas.

Vilkas is Lithuanian for "wolf". Farkas is Hungarian for "wolf".

The wolf, wolf werewolf brothers.
Trivia: I married Vilkas in Skyrim.

Now we take "Vilk" from Vilkas and combine it with the "heim" from Jotunheim.
And we take "Farkas" and combine it with the word "son".
Vilkeim Farkason.
Trivia: Vil wears cowboy clothes, because I have a cowboy fetish.

Next comes Filo Dosavar.

Filo is a tribute to a patron's name. This patron lives in South-America, where it is not always save to leave the house after nigthfall.
But one night he heard a dog howling in pain, so he left his home to follow the howling.

After a short while he found a dog whose paw was stuck in a crack in a gnarled tree.
He freed the dog, who wagged his tail in gratitude, before he ran away into the darkness of the night.
In relation to this story Filo's family name is Dosavar - a fantasy word based on "dog saver".

Trivia: I edited Filo's fur and hair colour to make him look younger. The light hair made him look too old imao.
His colour palette is based on frozen blue berries.

These are the origin stories of Vilkeim and Filo.
Thank you for reading.
