I decided to make posts about my original characters (OC). To be more precise: How I chose their names. I'll introduce two characters per post.

Finding a name for an OC is not easy. At least not for me. I have an idea, but one day later I do not like it anymore.
Therefore I found my own technique by using tributes.

This time I'll explain the name origin of Sebastian and Stefano Roivas.
Starting with Sebastian.

The name refers to Sebastian Castellanos from the horror game "The Evil Within".
One of the best horror games of the last decade with unique monster design and a story, that won't reveal it's secrets until the finale.
Sebastian is Hispanic/American. That is why his name is pronounced Spanish.
The same goes for my OC Sebastian from "Moon Detective".

Next is Stefano and his name has an emotional origin.
I am very grateful for every patron's support. Your support.
And once in a while I contact loyal supporters to ask for their names.
If the contacted patron agrees with my offer I name my original character after them (variations of their name are possible).
In this case: Stefano

Now comes the last revelation: "Roivas".

In 2002 a game called "Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem" released.
You play as different characters, who live in different centuries. Everyone is confronted with darkness and old gods and their fate isn't always a happy one.
Yet all their stories and memories come together in records and books kept by the Roivas family, whose last living member Alexandra Roivas slowly loses her sanity, after her uncle was found murdered.
To figure out what really happened she investigates the old family manor and her ancestors secrets. But she can not trust her own mind anymore, because something dark and powerful approaches.

So the family name "Roivas" is an homage to "Eternal Darkness" one of the pioneer games with sanity mechanics.

That's it. The origin stories of Sebastian and Stefano Roivas names.
Thank you for reading.
