Welcome to the final Kings Journal, where I list all animated series I watched.
I try to remember as many series as possible.
At the end of the journal I will list all characters I could draw as Bara or Furry artworks.

In my childhood and teenage years animated series produced by Disney were aired between 18:00 to 20:15 on a German TV channel.
Another channel aired anime, but only in the afternoon. This way I could watch both.

The first link leads to the English opening and the second one to the German version.
In this journal I will use the German names for all characters.
Some shows kept all names identical, but some English names do not sound charming for a German audience (that's my theory) so they were changed.

Here we go.

Mickey Mouse Classic Cartoons and Silly Symphonies

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngcbGwhK9hE&ab_channel=ScreenBlaster13

These cartoons where quite old in my childhood. Each one was a short episode featuring famous Disney characters like Mickey, Donald, or Goofy. Other episodes showed fairy tales like „The three  little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf“ and other epsides were only about orchestral music. Those were the Silly Symphonies.

House of the Mouse

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQDMGBTWXxw&ab_channel=AnthonyRodriguez

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwMbgeh1D9s&ab_channel=Andromeda

This series was similar to the classic episodes just modern. Meaning better picture quality and all characters appeared in their nowadays look. The episodes were aired on a big screen inside Mickey's Clubhouse, which was the „headquarter“ of the show.
All famous Disney characters were guests there and watched those new cartoons together.

Winnie Pooh

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiVXYs6VLWw&ab_channel=33Eva33

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=837dL_FhGTQ&ab_channel=HenrikIlgner-Topic

There is a magic forest, where plushies are alive. One of them is Winnie the bear who loves honey. Together with his friends he experiences small adventures, which work well for a younger audience.

Rescue Rangers

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PELdq2SIhr4&ab_channel=DisneyTelevisionAnimationNews

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uo87FQZkfa4&ab_channel=RetroBoter

Two Squirrels called Chip and Dale (Chap in German) found a detective agency. Supported by their mice friends Trixie and Samson and the fly Summy (these are their German names) they investigate different cases to help animals and humans.
One of the show's villains is a fat cat who acts like a mafia boss. I think he belongs to a human mafia boss.

Ducktales

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqZ_Cb2slBw&t=5s&ab_channel=DisneyPlus

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lVt3_Sea8A&ab_channel=VolcSeriesGermany

I loved this show. It's about Dogobert Duck (originally Scrooge McDuck).
Dagobert is super rich. He lives in a mansion and all his money is stored in a huge safe building. His nephews Tick, Trick and Track (Huey, Dewey and Louie) live together with him. In each episode they experience an adventure. Some are about treasure hunting and other episodes are about criminals who try to steal Dagobert Duck's money.

Fun facts: In Elementary school we should draw a picture of our favourite show.
I drew Dagobert's mansion and the money storage.
In the German opening you can hear several English words like hurricane, happy end, stories and action. Similar to Japanese people Germans use English words instead of the usually longer words in their native languages.

Weekenders

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSgy8Loi1c8&ab_channel=JoshLieberman

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5leZgkYvHsA&ab_channel=hugomiller

There is not much story in this series. Four kids have plans for each weekend.
They go to restaurants and do spare time activities.
Now that I write this text, I think this show was kinda lame. I wachted it and it was not bad, but it was one of those Disney shows, where the producers really tried to establish a cast of characters who should be cool, without being cool. Try hard wannabe cool kids who are not cool. Hard to explain.
But I had that feeling as a teenager.

Speaking of those shows, where Disney tried to show the coolness of uncool characters:
I hated Doug and Pepperann. Both shows were exactly what I described above.
And Doug was so amazingly boring. I bet he got Ritalin pills every day. Maybe that's why his friend Skeeter had green skin – Doug had optical side effects from the pills.

Recess

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zObiglKZKZc&ab_channel=NostalgicDaze

Recess was great. It's about a group of kids who try to survive daily school life with mean teachers and personal problems. Unlike the shows I mentioned above the characters of Recess are all uncool outsiders. There is a skinny nerd girl, an overweight big boy and so on.
But they are all very likable and the series does not try to present them as cool kids.
And I really appreciate this honesty.

Fillmore

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Vl4EGJRuow&ab_channel=HarveyWilliams

The series is about Fillmore who does detective stuff at school.

Dave the Barbarian

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQv16Q0doRY&ab_channel=Nerdgasmist

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XK7PrTGk5A&ab_channel=Harmonygirl

I did not know that this is a Disney show, but it is. I always considered it as too ugly for Disney, but I was wrong.
The show is about a big barbarian hunk called Dave who protects a kingdom from danger.
The art style is not the best imao, but I think was well entertained and Dave is a hunk.
A rare sight for a main character in a show.

Darkwing Duck

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_ee6aZObyI&ab_channel=jm3dina

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZfxfZDuPpk&ab_channel=RetroBoter

Darkwing Duck is actually an average duck in daily life, but at night he puts on his hero costume to fight against criminals as Darkwing Duck. His headquarter is inside the towers of a big bridge. His sidekick is Quack, a pilot who also appears in Ducktales.
Darkwing has an adoptive daughter called Kiki.
Darkwing has many villains, who try to defeat him with evil plans.

American Dragon

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8o3JrdPMNdQ&ab_channel=AmericanDragon%3AJakeLongFanChannel

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12fgJdBhmIk&ab_channel=MrLuigiRewind

Jake Long is half-Caucasian and half-Asian. His Chinese family has a secret:
All family members can transform into dragons. As a dragon Jake has to learn a lot about the mythical world. His grandfather and a talking dog are his teachers.
During daytime Jake goes to school and in the evening he figths against evil ninjas and creatures in his dragon form.
I liked this series, because the story was nice and I liked the characters and I like dragons.

But with season 2 the artstyle changed completely and the show suddenly looked very ugly. So ugly, that it was no fun to watch. As far as I know many fans thought the same and I think American Dragon never got a proper last episode. The show just ends in a kinda unsatisfying manner.

Arielle

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqzal9fCZMc&ab_channel=CartoonPool

Arielle the mermaid lives under the sea in the city of Atlantica. Her father is king Triton who rules the Seven Seas. Arielle is curious and experiences many different adventures under the sea. Some adventures also include the human world.
The sexiest villain of the series is the evil manta who has huge pecs and a moustache.

King Triton is also kinda hot and all men have nipples.
This show gets an extra plus point for showing pecs and nipples.
I really liked  Arielle the animated series.

Aladdin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDySyTC11l4&ab_channel=GloriousRetroGoodness

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLabiCxR3ck&ab_channel=CartoonPool

Aladdin is a thief. His friends are Abu an ape, genie a genie,  a flying carpet and parrot Iago. His love interest is princess Jasmine. The series is inspired by Tales of 1001 nights.
Aladdin fights against monsters made of mud. He has to deal with evil magic and mysteries.
It's a very nice show in my opinion.

The sexiest character is Aladdin's father Cassim, who only appears in the second Aladdin movie. I had that movie as on VHS tape. If you don't know what that is, you must be younger than me.

The opening song is better in German than in English imao. The German singer feels the spirit.

Fun fact: It took me years to realize that Aladdin's butt isn't super fat in one scene on the flying carpet. It is just a bag next to him. xD

Goof Troop

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5wNX_mIraA&ab_channel=AnimDailies

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GC_17yz6raI&ab_channel=CartoonPool

This series is about the daily life of Goofy and his teenage son Max. They live next to weahlty Carlo (Pete in English) and his family who kinda tries to get rid of Goofy, while their sons are best friends.

I still think that Goofy's green house looks prettier, than rich Carlo's (Pete's) mansion.

Mighty Ducks

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYwlXRVWCCI&ab_channel=DarkDragonx23

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYROdxKH8JA&ab_channel=Alex%27Welt

I don't remember this show well. I think it is about ducks who play ice hockey, but they are also secret agents who fight against something.

Quack Pack

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SO-RLWEwEk&ab_channel=CanadaToonFan

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-oK2R3fni4&ab_channel=CanadaToonFan

Donald Duck's nephews are teenagers in this show and they are only having nonsense in their heads.

Kim Possible

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIgLqN_rAXU&ab_channel=DisneyChannel

Kim is a high school girl, but she is also a secret agent who fights against different villains. Her best friend is a clumsy boy called Ron. He also assists her as an agent.
The show has several notable villains who make this animation interesting.

Lilo and Stitch

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WREobnmYO4M&ab_channel=theothernl

There are many experiments spread across Lilo's home island. Each experiment is a creature with special talents. They are also aliens. Together with her alien friend Stitch, who is also an experiment, she tries to capture the other aliens to prevent them from harming the island's residents with their powers.

There is also Gantu who also tries to capture the experiments. He wants to use them for his own interests.

Gummi Bears

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYZH7B498gE&ab_channel=DisneyPlus

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YO1GBsuzTWU&ab_channel=b00sta23

This show is among my Disney favourites. The Gummy bears live hidden in the forest in a place called Gummy Glen. It's a big tree at a pond and the underground is a cozy house with several rooms and a big meeting hall in the centre.

The Gummi bears are able to cook a special potion, that makes them jump fast and high, like a gummi ball. The same potion makes humans super strong. But the effect does not last long.

Duke Igthorn and his ogres who lice at castle Drekmore want to steal the recipe to become super strong and then Igthorn can conquer the kingdom of Dunwyn.
Dunwyn is ruled by kind king Gregor. His daughter Calla is clever and she is among the very few people who know about the existence of the Gummy bears.
The other human who knows about this secret is Cavin, who also lives at the castle.
All other humans consider Gummi Bears as a legend for children.
The episodes are all about small and big adventures. How Duke Igthorn tries to capture the Gummi Bears and how they manage to ruin his evil plans.

There is also an evil hag that steals other creatures life energy to be young forever.
The world of the Gummi Bears is filled with magical creatures and it is great medi-eval fantasy world to discover.

Talespin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVTD-LtpW0M&ab_channel=DisneyPlus

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yw-6jd8IOCI&ab_channel=RetroBoter

This is also one of my favourite Disney shows. In German the series is called „Captain Baloo“.
Captain Baloo is a good pilot. He owns a plane and small cargo company. But he is bankrupt and his home and plane are sold to Rebecca Cunningham. She is an ambitious business lady who wants to compete with other big transport companies in the city of Cape Suzette. The wealthiest and most influental person of the city is Shere Khan.
His intentions are not always clear, but he is a clever man who pulls the strings of Cape Suzette.

To safe enough money to get his plane back, Baloo agrees to work for Rebecca.
Her company is called „Higher for Hire“ and she is willing to accept almost every commission to make profit.
But flying around in a plane isn't that easy, because the skies are full with pirates.
Therefore the city of Cape Suzette is protected by a big cliff with canons.
Nevertheless once a plane leaves the city the pirates gonna try to hijack it.
The biggest pirate air ship is owned by Don Carnage who dreams of invading Cape Suzette to steall all the riches.

Talespin is a great animated show with many very nice characters.
The complete cast is unique in the Disney universe. Rebecca Cunningham is a single parent and a business lady, Baloo is a pilot who adopts a former pirate. They have a mechanic who seems to be on drugs and the whole city seems to be corrupted somehow by Shere Khan. There is also Louie who owns a bar for pilots on a small tropical island.
The episodes are fun and creative.

Gargoyles

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjI0TdvVbqI&ab_channel=CanadaToonFan

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nlk2dCqKwY&ab_channel=RetroBoter

Gargoyle Goliath and his gargoyle buddies awake from a 1000 year magic spell slumber in modern New York. Their castle was bought by David Xanatos and brought from Scotland to the top of a skyscraper in Manhatten.

While the gargoyles try to adapt to modern life, Xanatos turns out to be a villain.

Goliath and the other gargoyles escape and find shelter in a clock tower. They find a friend in police officer Elisa. Together with Xanatos, she is among the few humans who know about the gargoyles existence and she tries to protect them.
The series is dark and mature and very different from other Disyney productions.
And that's pretty much a reason why I loved it. Not to mention that Goliath was pretty hot.
I only wish he had nipples in the series.

I will never understand the artistic choice to not draw nipples for males in animation.
It means females lack them, too. That's a disturbing idea in my opinion.

Dinosaurs

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ccx9h1tgr-M&ab_channel=TVShowStarts

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgu7GXqJexw&ab_channel=Joki58

Well it is not animated, but it had to be on my list.
The series is about the Sinclair family. Father Earl, mother Fran, son Robbie, daughter Charlene and the Baby called Baby. There is also grandmother Ethel. They are all dinosaurs who live in a world similar to the 1990s with TV and malls, telephones and fashion and so on. Many episodes can be considered as a parody of modern human life, but there is also a lot of criticism hidden in clever storytelling. There are topics like religious fanatism, sexual abuse at work, sexual orientation, sex ed at school and role models.

The story about Robbie who could be bisexual is one of the most interesting episodes, because the episode is actually about Robbie who starts eating vegetable secretly, while all dinosaurs eat meat only and society expects that everyone eats meat.
So Robbie's parents are shocked, when they find out about Robbie's preference for vegetable. They also find him in a vegetable bar.
But his parents also take the time to think about what is going on and how good parents would deal with the situation. So at last the Sinclair family decides to serve vegetable to every meal, because diet should be diverse.
When watching this episode as a boy I could not name it, but I knew, that there was more going on than just eating vegetable.

Well, I could write more, but I simply recommend watching „Dinosaurs“, because many topics have lost none of their relevance. Not to mention that the series is very funny.

Conclusion about Disney

In general I remember Disney series much better than other animated shows. I think they were repeated more often in TV than other productions and there are less episodes. So it is easier to remember I guess.
My favourite Disney series were Gargoyles, Talespin, Gummi Bears, Ducktales, Arielle, Aladdin and Dinosaurs.

I remember some newer creations by Disney like Phineas and Pherb, but I was already too old to get into it and it looked really ugly.
Even nowadays there are several shows I do not watch because I consider the art style as too ugly to be watch-able.
Considering Disneys animated series in general it was always a pity, that they did not produce more for teenagers and young adults – at least not in my teenage years.
So I was fascinated by anime with more mature stories and with lots of progress.
I thinks that's why I lost connection to Disney, although I loved it as a kid.

Quick history about German dubs

Considering all journals I wrote about animated series I think I was lucky to grow up in a time, when TV was a big deal and many shows were produced.
Another reason might be that Germany has an excellent dubbing industry since 1949/50.

Dubbing movies and series has historic reasons in Germany. After WW2 modern Germany was founded by the Allies and American, French and British movies were used to re-educate Germans. To teach the values of democracy, freedom, peace and also the American dream. Russia had the same idea, but their movies had a communistic undertone.
The problem of the Allies was the same: Movies with subs were unpopular so everything was translated into German and then dubbed by actors and actresses.
Over decades German dubs became more and more professional.
After the Wall fell in 1989 and West and East Germany reunited, the former communistic East of the country also had a huge Hunger for western entertainment.
German dubbing studios bought and subbed thousands of movies and series from all around the world. I grew up with Russian fairy-tale movies followed by Superman with Christopher Reeves, Disney, Pokemon and so on.
A diverse mix with productions from all around the world.
Many videgames are also dubbed in German for example Uncharted, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, God of War and more.

Well I could write much more about German dubs, but this short summary should be enough to understand, how I was able to watch so many different animated series before the Internet and streaming services existed.

The Happy Ending of these Kings Journals about animation

Well, I wish Disney would produce live-action versions of Gargoyles and Talespin (with handsome humans) for Disney+ to revive both franchises. And I would love to see new episodes of the Dinosaurs.
I think these series could be very popular.
And it would be nice to be spared from Disney's kinda terrible live-action movies like extreme-feminist Aladdin or soul-less Beauty and the Beast.

At last I am grateful, that I was able to watch so many different animated series. No matter if western or anime. Many of them were very inspiring. I had crushes and I could share emotions with the characters and their stories.

I think that's why I became an artist. Because I had all these idols.
And I am happy, that I am among the group of adults who love animation, while other grown-ups can not see the magic anymore.

I will always see the magic.

Thank you for reading.

Do you know some of these series?
What is your favourite Disney series? Or one you dislike?
Did you have a Disney crush? What character would you like to see in Bara art style?
You could tell me in the comments. I look forward to your feedback.

And it's the final moment to show some Disney guys I could draw (again).
