Hello everyone,

my milestone goals are outdatet. I created them very early at the beginning and back then a single comic page or a poster seemed to be huge projects, but I make progress faster than my milestone goals are reached. I created several comic pages in the past, I am finishing a complete original character comic within these days, I am working on two other comic series, I am in the preparation process of a graphic novel game, I did collaborations with other artists leading to a x-ray animation and an illustrated story sold on a convention in Paris (France), I founded an artist group, I am a patron to support other artists, in short: My milestone goals are outdated and I have no interest in keeping them.

There is also another reason you can not see. I have to deal with fake patrons regularly.
They create an account, click the pledge button, but they do not pledge for real.
I guess those people hope to unlock my creations without donating anything or that I share things with the official "thank you" message. Especially the milestone goals attract them. Each time I was close to reach one the number of fake patrons increased.
And what also happened: Patrons deleted their pledge instantly that moment when I announced, that a milestone goal was hit. What should I think about that?!

Patreon thinks the milestone goals motivate creators, but in my case it is annoying. I do not want to wait to improve my skills with new ideas and projects until an artificial goal (limit) is reached. When I want to do something I do it now.

I don't need milestone goals, because creating art is my basic attitude and urge.
Thank you for reading.

Unfortunately, the milestone system don't work as it should because of these situations with Patrons pledging and them deleting it, so It's totally understandable your take in this. Also I love what you said there, "creating art is my basic attitude and urge" that's awesome and It's great to hear that, after all, enjoyment is important in this! =D

Thank you for your understanding! :) Well, simply said it is a pain in the ass, when you want to create a comic or a game, but a milestone goal stops you, because it is not hit or repeatly lost.
