Accepting Queen's Brothel (Patreon)

Excuse my derail. I don't think I'm in a good position to continue changing Queen's Brothel's gameplay mechanics. I have canceled my brothel management plans and will be continuing Queen's Brothel with its biggest strength in mind, the story.

I have accepted some major points with Queen's Brothel, especially being a small indie developer:

  • Queen's Brothel is a massive scale project
  • 6 playable characters is too many
  • The gameplay is good enough
  • The characters and story carry players to the end

The current battle system is also good enough to be considered the gameplay mechanic. We can refine it over time and add new boss battles and stuff.

Going forward

Queen's Brothel will be my outlet for writing stories. Barely Working and future games will be my outlet for creating gameplay.

Queen's Brothel requires a lot of time to fill. Stories stories stories. And it's fun! All the girls are cool and I want to put them in funny little situations. But, this shouldn't take time away from creating more games. Small fun games, in quantity, will help push us forward. 

  • Queen's Brothel will launch early access in January 2023
  • Queen's Brothel will cost $9.99 (down from my previous $19.99)
  • Any patrons who have given me $9.99 or more between January 2018 - October 2022 will receive a free itch or Steam key (I'll message you in November)
  • The goal will be to fill Queen's Brothel up with enough quests by the end of 2023

The game studio / company

I think the adult game community is still lacking fun and complete games, and I started Queen's Brothel with this same mentality 5 years ago. With Steam's acceptance of adult games, I'd like to push the adult game meta forward with short, high-quality, complete games.

Consider my ideas to be ambitious, but I'd like to run a game studio that creates "must play" adult games. Games that don't feel like unfinished cash grabs. Games that aren't just visual novels. Games that push the adult game standard.

I'm looking forward to finishing Queen's Brothel and working on more games.

Ah bummer. i liked the new gameplay mechanics but i get it: sometimes you need to focus to get things done and i was kind of surprised when you said that you wanted to add a completely new mechanic to an already huge game. And as a programmer myself i know that sometimes you run in the wrong direction before you remark that it won't work the way you expected it to and have to tackle it completely differently... So anyway keep up the great work! I love the game, it's so much fun that i just started a new game just to test everything out on linux for ya ;) Oh btw. thanks for re-adding the version number to the download-files! :)
