Regarding NFT's (Patreon)
Content
TLDR; I don't plan on becoming an NFT artist, but if you decide to stop your support because I've decided to try this out, I respect that and thank you for the support you've shown.
As Patreon is literally a place where people are here to support, I want to be open with you guys.
I have decided to create an account on Foundation, which is a site for NFT's.
Yes, I've done the research and weighed the pros and cons, and yes, I expect people to show hate and unfollow, which some already have on social media. I can't say that the majority of hate around it is unbiased nor grounded but also vice versa. I believe cryptocurrency like many other things are a gray area but I will not go into it as I don't intend on creating any arguments.
I could write a whole essay on my thoughts about it and the research I've done but I'm sure we've heard enough so bottom line is, I just want to put it out there and to be transparent rather than work behind the shadows.
I don't plan on becoming an NFT artist, posting all my works as NFT's, spamming NFT content or having a hivemind about it. I still believe in doing work the traditional way. I simply decided to try it out after weighing the pros and cons and doing my research. I have been interested in cryptocurrency and the stock market for years now, and so crypto on it's own is nothing new to me. However, I feel the amount of hate on NFT's became a huge issue after it blew up early this year, and really, what I've noticed is that it's only those on the west showing such intense emotion regarding it. Again though, I'm not gonna go into details.
If you decide to stop your support because I've decided to try this out, I respect that and thank you for the support you've shown.
Otherwise, me as an artist, nothing will change and I will still strive to continue working hard on creating art and improving.

Edit:
Seems like people still don't understand what I meant when I say I've done my research about the pros and cons. So I guess here's a mini "essay" afterall.
Destroying the planet over one NFT is a long shot. And being thrown that as a comment is one of the most common attacks. And that attack is one of the clearest proofs that whatever they've learned is one sided. I'm not defending that crypto is "good" as like most things in this world, it does contribute to "destroying this world" as well. But crypto as a whole is one issue and NFTs on their own are minor in comparison.
No one talks about how NFTs are just utilizing an already existing network, that one transaction doesn't impact energy consumption the way people make it out to be, and that a single transaction comsumes less energy than producing a tshirt. The artists that create an NFT every once in a while are not the same as ones who mass produce them. I'm not pointing fingers, I'm just stating a fact.
I try to not let it get to me but the misguidings about this are just so great and people really do be out here trying to prove a point that they are better than people who just want to make a living out of their passion and idk, die a little less at their dreaded and possibly abusive 9-5? I hate to bring up this point that's been said by another but really, eating meat, using transportation, buying more clothes than what's essential, using electricity - it all contributes to environmental damage. I wouldn't brag about the good deeds I do and have done to make me sound better than the person next to me nor would I feel the need to. I just wanted to be honest and keep it peaceful. Don't attack others when they are trying to keep it real, there's something called unfollowing and you don't need to make a grand exit about it.
Anyways, rant over.
Thanks again to those who stay and if you decide to leave, I get it. Any negative comments I will ignore and will not stoop to a level of being an ass about it :)
