A hot topic in the art community lately is about NFT's. I won't go into it as there are lots of articles on it if you do a google search, but the biggest concerns about it are 1. damage to the environment and 2. art theft.

Art theft has always been around and there's no way of stopping them, but now with NFT'S people can make profit off artists work just by saving a jpg version of it and tokenizing it as an NFT.

I've seen my own HD works posted to sites and danbooru sites in the past and unfortunately, the only place I upload them to is my Patreon and Gumroad yet they still leak out.

I don't like the idea of people taking art that doesn't belong to them but as I have acknowledged that it's inevitable, I don't go through lengths to prevent/hunt it down. I also don't mind people using my art as icons etc. as long as it's not for profit or even reposting as long as the source is cited but I do appreciate those who ask beforehand, especially if they are uploading it to places with a higher audience traction.

In light of all this, I've decided that all full resolution jpeg files from now on will have a watermark on it. The only exception being private commissions.

I apologize for having to spam my watermark on them all, but I'd like to protect my artwork and name as an illustrator and hope you understand ; v ;

The illustration is a queued commission I finally got to completing!

Very understandable, I hope it dies down and happens less often

As far as I'm concerned it's your work so it's your rules! Which means you get to do whatever you choose with your art and if that means placing watermarks to protect it then so be it. Also I doubt most people here will be upset over this, so do whatcha gotta do! ( ^_^)-b
