Producer for Adult JRPG/Farming Sim (Remote Position) (Patreon)

About Us:

Team Nimbus is a fully remote team of professional independent game developers working to make high quality adult entertainment focused video games. Our team is composed of over a dozen full-time and part-time members from across the globe. We primarily coordinate our efforts through text and voice using Discord, as well as such organizational tools as Trello, Google Drive, Dropbox, and recently Notion. We are seeking a producer to help finish off our current project; Cloud Meadow.

About the role:

The producer will work with a fully remote multi-disciplinary team, acting as a central organizing agent in order to assist other members in the delivery of game features, levels, and assets, as well as tracking the rate of work and helping set and adjust deadlines and goals outlined in the project roadmap. You will be responsible for owning the scheduling and planning of ongoing work towards future releases.

The ideal candidate for this role is a self-motivated, highly autonomous, communicative, and detail oriented worker. This candidate is constantly seeking out information to proactively identify and solve production problems, willing to become intimate with the game’s development ecosystem and design intent on every level, then applying that knowledge to help direct the team to the most efficient and productive route for completion of features and the delivery of a successful product.

This is a full time contractual role with a fully paid 6-month probationary review period to see if the candidate fits well with the team. Assuming no issues with either team or candidate, then the position will become a permanent and ongoing role from then on. We are offering a rate of $35 per hour capped at $5600 USD per month.

Responsibilities

• Planning, scheduling, coordinating and tracking the team’s work towards project goals with an eye towards interdepartmental task dependencies and hand-offs
• Must use Discord as the primary communication medium with the team
• Working directly with for department leads to set achievable goals and release schedules
• Facilitating communication within a fully-remote multidisciplinary team to ensure information is being shared and important decisions are being made in a timely manner
• Constantly looking ahead for development roadblocks and bottlenecks so they can be resolved before they impact work
• Creating supporting documentation for the team such as backlogs, roadmaps, burndown charts and mitigation plans
• Putting together community-facing reports on team progress and future updates

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years experience as a project manager, product owner or team manager in a game development role
• Experience working with a variety of disciplines including engineers, designers, artists and writers
• Proficiency of the English language in written & verbal skills
• Experience with standard project management software such as Trello, Jira, Azure DevOps or Microsoft Excel
• A self-motivated, proactive approach to problem solving and personal interactions with team members

The most suitable candidate will also fulfill most of the following selection criteria:

• Experience in the JRPG, Farming Sim, Monster-Taming and adult game markets
• Experience with Discord, Patreon and Twitter communities
• Experience with market research within the erotic games genre
• Comfort and calm in moments of conflict, with a mindset towards finding solutions
• A self-starting communicator who is unafraid to jump in and talk to new people
