One thing I'm starting to notice is that you're running into a problem that Pixar themselves ran into back in the early 2000's, which was characters looking a bit like plastic. I'd rant more about what you're missing, but since I'm barely a 3d artist I figured that pointing out the issue and let you research what Pixar themselves did to fix the issue would do you better. In my opinion you're in uncanny valley territory, which here isnt an issue.
