On the bright side, if you can call it that, I'm somewhat getting used to having my electricity randomly cut. It's still literal hell when it's 40 degrees Celsius and I can't turn on the air conditioner, but I no longer feel like I'm about to pass out.

I'm building a "heat resistance" so to speak. It's important to have a sense of humor when you're living in a country such as this.

On the less bright side, this was a terrible chapter month. The content was great (in my opinion), but the number of words was abysmal.

Not to jinx myself as badly as I did 1 month ago, the day before electricity started being randomly turned off, but, I think this month will be better.

Aside from that, I'm still alive, still healthy, and big picture things are going well.

If you have any questions, ask them in the comments below.

Thank you for the continued support!

So how many more times/ classes will Sylver get in the future? Considering the story is coming to its last arc only one more time?

Jake Martin

Much love man ty for every chapter. I live in Florida you never get used to the heat lol

God

I’m excited to see what shenanigans Edmund and sylver get up to

Kingkennit

I don't know. The story will have a "soft stop," where most people will be happy with how it ended, but I'll probably get back to it and keep it going after doing something else for a while.

Metamere

Glad you're adapting and sorry you're having to. Almost every author I follow had lower word counts last month. It's summer. It was good enough.

Seen Death

Thanks for the chapters! Hope things become more stablilized/ comfortable for ya soon! I might be missing some information, but why are the "higher" realms better than the lesser? (I think i remember that you cant start lower and then go higher?) So wouldnt it be best to be born on one of the higher planes and then spend most of your time in a lesser one (assuming your lifespan is endless) - so you could progress 100 years in the time 10 or whatever passed in your original realm? Or why not? Thank you!

Dion Crump

Just look at the upsides like a stat sheet. Kennit Kenway -5 comfort +3 heat resistance -2 electrical stability Achievement unlocked! Survive a heat wave with no A/C +1 to all mental stats Quest unlocked! This won’t be overeasy Fry an egg outside without any fire because of the ungodly heat Rewards: a cooked egg and a cool story to share. Penalty for failure or declining? N/A

The Arcane Emperor

Hey, glad to hear are adapting. I was wondering, how many chapters until Silvers next class evolution ?

Yuval Roth

What can a high level fire mage do? Sylver can transform into fog, bring a variety of different dead or could even outright kill people without anything else, I find it hard to think what a fire mage could do beyond big explosion or heat.

John Anastacio

I like that your characters often have what sound like Russian names. Any particular reason?

Kingkennit

They're easy to read/remember (both for me and readers), sound foreign in a good way, and are easy to come up with.

Kingkennit

Big explosion and heat is mostly right, mages in the Ibis hyper specialize to an absurd degree.

Kingkennit

Without making this into a 10 paragraph explanation: -There are mages in the Ibis who sent their apprentices to other realms for this exact purpose, but it's considered an extremely dangerous training method, since there are a million better and safer ways of helping an apprentice grow. -The Ibis isn't the only big organization out there, they have enemies, some of which are always watching for someone from the Ibis to be too far away for help to reach. -The difference in time isn't always consistent, usually its as you described, but there's always the risk of accidentally ending up 10,000 years in the future.

Yuval Roth

So Edmund didn't do things like spending three centuries or something learning a random magic not of his specialization, seems like a waste when you are immortal to not learn everything.

Kingkennit

Because you're thinking of it in video games terms where a spell can reach max level, and that's all there is to it. During the Ibis' time, magic was like making a painting. The more detail you add, the better it is, or you might realize that removing something will make it better (this is just an example, I know sometimes less is more etc...) Learning random magic would be the equivalent of a C++ coder taking time out of his python code development, to learn something that will likely be useless to him in the long run, his time is better spent sticking solely to C++. (This is debatable, but I'm not a coder, and this is just an example.) On top of that, everyone in the Ibis isn't just sitting around twiddling their thumbs, they're pretty much involved in some kind of war 24/7, and once you're done being an apprentice, you have a job to do, with very little time to tinker with your collection of spells.

Seen Death

Late reply on my part but thanks for the answer! Also i might have found out where the Ibis went on this vacation! https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/311340556535988225/1006330278257631364/20220808_164923.jpg

John Anastacio

Hi again. Probably stupid question, but was Edmund the son of Adema or just her apprentice? I know his surname was Henrason.

Kingkennit

He was her son, and her apprentice. His surname is Ademason. I remember I mixed up Henra and Adema at some point, and corrected the names in the text part of the chapter, but not the Epub. His last name is Ademason, but he almost never uses his last name, due to in-story reasons.

John Anastacio

The world of Eira is a dead snake, right? Sylver should try to raise it as an undead.

Andrew Morris

I've adored your book so far, and it's touching to finally see him find his brother.
