First look at the new rewards (Patreon)

OK - this is the proposal for a new Patreon rewards system. Not a lot changes and mostly - you get MORE. The idea is to help differentiate the payment levels. I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while and with a few new pledges it looks like it can happen.

Let’s talk about the breakdown

Main Site – I would be pulling the weekly comics from the main site and ONLY publishing complete stories at the end of the run. This would mean a wait of a month or two for new updates at the site. Old art would remain live (at least that’s the plan) but new art would be brought in at a slower pace and only when the Patreon is done.

Comics – for the most part this would remain the same for all people. 40/pages a month. There is additional delineation between $1 and $2 Patreons being considered too. I have considered adding in things like finished comic books for higher levels but recently found out about a new way to integrate Patreon back with the main site. (see below)

Weekly Preview – well, this is one I am going to ratify once and for all. I have been doing weekly previews for all levels for the last few months. They are not ‘officially’ part of the Patreon rewards but I will make them part of it. When I do so it will only be for $2/month and above. That’s not meant as slam or deterrent for $1 but the deal is this - $1 is currently getting you a lot and I want to break up the levels to give them more meaning. 

Vote in regular polls – these would be regular polls with things like “hey, do you want to see me draw A or B?” or things along those lines. I can’t say how frequent these would be but this would be for all people $2 and up.

Vote/Create special polls – these would be things like YOU suggesting people for me to draw and THEN me setting up a poll for people to vote on. Example “You tell ME some people you want to see me draw and then I will put those people in a poll for the $2 and up Patreon. These people would effectively control the CONTENT of the voting. I do reserve the right to add in my own polls of course but as much as possible I would allow YOU to choose things.

Website preview – now THIS is the thing I am most excited about. I am going to begin testing a plugin that allows PATREONS here to connect DIRECTLY to my website and see special content. This will need some shaking down BUT it could mean things like old Patreon pledges up in galleries for you to peruse. It can also mean a LOT more art accessed by you and a new kind of early preview. My site is already set up to do a ton of art so bringing you in there makes it a LOT easier to get you new art! I’ll keep you posted as we go forward.

Influence new story ideas – this might be something as simple as a private forums where we can talk or even a Discord channel. I’d love to hear more from you!

Custom Art – this is completely a work-in-progress idea but yep, this would be me doing art for you. I want to stress we are talking about a guided process since I won’t be able to open things up to full commission level for that kind of money. I could do quick sketches and the like though. This would also be something that (if used) would be occasional since I can't commit to drawing a ton of people custom art. I may, stress on the MAY, open up another Patreon level for custom pages and art like that.

The ROUGH ETA for this is in the coming 3-4 weeks. Maybe sooner? It may go longer depending on how easy I can set things up on my end. Also – some of the detail might change depending on feedback or new information.
