OK!!! I'M BACK!!! [Life Update sorta] (Patreon)

OK PHEW Sorry for the lack of updates recently... (I need to start being not sorry sobs I feel like I start all of my Patreon posts with a sorry)

But if you didn't know, I just returned from a trip to Spain! I was there for two things: Japan Weekend, a convention that I was invited to in Madrid, and a book signing that I was doing in Barcelona.

First off: Japan Weekend. Preparing for the convention was HELL; there were so many miscommunications that I almost didn't get to have my books for the convention. Which isn't the end of the world, but it would've been such a missed opportunity. I mean, I came all the way from Indonesia, I wouldn't be in Spain super often, people who didn't have the book yet would've missed the opportunity to get it signed, I would've looked kinda dumb just sitting there in the convention with my thumb up my ass, stuff like that. Either way, I secured the books last minute (literally one day before the convention) and everything went ok!

I got this so last minute lmfao I was ready to fistfight someone or go nuclear on Twitter

The convention went really fine, too fine imo! This is my first time as a guest so I didn't really have much expectations, but the line for my booth for the first day literally didn't end until 6 PM. Every time I look up, there's still people queuing. I was able to get some food + bathroom breaks, but for the most part I tried staying put in my booth! Interestingly, even though I talked and worked the whole day through, I didn't feel tired at all. I usually get so tired and sick after conventions, so it was kind of a miracle. IDK, maybe it's the adrenaline. 

Thank you so much everyone who came to see me at the convention! Unfortunately I'm not much of a photo guy so I didn't actually take pics of my booth uhuhu... It was a little bit pathetic since the booth that they gave me was so big and I wasn't able to fill it out properly anyway, but all things considered it's such a huge successful event for me!

Next, I had the pleasure of hanging out with a buncha my friends! We were able to meet before last year, but it was still super exciting anyway since I don't get to see them often. I can't state how much fun I had with them, we had lunch and went around the city, they took me to some bookstores to show that Boyfriends is in there GASP!!!

We ended up book hunting, found a few stores that hold my books!

It's probably not much for them, but it means the whole world to me that they were willing to spend time with me ;w;

It's a really weird feeling because I feel like, in here, I was able to feel accepted? For my identity? It's not something that I can experience every day at home. Not that my friends here don't respect me, but it's just not the culture, I guess. I don't know how to explain it. If I'm not hanging out with some select friends here, I wouldn't have my gender affirmed at all. So it was kind of a weird feeling, where I felt really happy but also sad that I can't get much of that feeling when I'm home.

Lastly, I went to Barcelona to do a book signing. It was really cool of Penguin Random House to facilitate the signing for me on such short notice, and the bookstore even did big signs for the event. This is my first non-convention signing, so I was kinda nervous at first! (Seeing people nervous too made me less nervous for some reason alsdkghlksdg)

Oh also a really cool thing happened, I didn't know this but the devs for Monster Prom are located in Barcelona... One person from the team saw the sign that the bookstore put out for my book signing, they didn't even know I was going there, but they came in anyway and gave me a copy of the game, I'm super super honored hueeeee ;w;

I think that's about it for my trip! I get to meet so many readers, friends, and cool people, thank you so much everyone who came to see and support me! I'll be working on more Boyfriends stuff again, so many stuff that I have to catch up on 💦💦💦 BUT YEA THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
