We have the same top 4! (Almost) HAHA Jay, Neon, Donghun, Jeup, and Bitsaeon (MONT) - I voted for Jay and Neon constantly, then for the rest I do it alternately. It's soooo hard 🥹 They're all so good 🫶

Aaaaahhhhh Breath is one of my favorite ballads so the performance was a bit unfortunate but I totally loved the three's voices on it 😭 (Park Hyoshin is considered one of the top vocalists in S. Korea, along with Kim Bum Soo, and Naul)

Park Hyo Shin has so many good songs. My favorite cover of Breath would be by Super Junior's Kyuhyun on King of Mask Singer which got him the title. He also did Wild Flower on Mask Singer that was incredible. Btw, Jaehwan did a cover of "Fool", another PHS song, on Mask Singer circa Wanna One. Great song. Also the guy in Beautiful is Lim Sanghyun, he's really good friends with Jaehwan. I'm pretty sure they were in the same year at the prestigious Howon University together (with Jeong Sewoon of pd101 s2).

I'm voting Jay, Gwangseok, Hayoon and Juhe. Although that last spot has alternated. I'm not the type who needs perfection but I need to feel it in my gut when they're singing. So, I tend to gravitate towards the more unique sounding voices.

Also the joke at the end of Beautiful was Da Hee commented that Sanghyun thought being a singer was so hard and had alot of worries. At which Jaehwan was "????? but we did my album not too long ago. Are you guys doing a storyline?" lol

suhwan's arch on produce x 101 was memorable to me. he was an excellent trainee, got A both times. and was motivated to participate even after he was rejected multiple times when auditioning to be an idol trainee because of his short height. his 'lullaby' performance and "super special girl" in px101 was one of my favourites.

I voted for seunghun and donghun together with JAY and GWANGSEOK for a while then replaced them with neon and SUNGWON and now it’s HARAM instead of neon. Feels like i was just experimenting at that point but I’m confident about my current list not changing *hopefully😭*

with what you mentioned about gwangseok in tomboy, i agree that it's probably on the higher end of his range but i don't think he was straining or pushing himself. especially with the ah part (which is so sad that that part was the biggest chunk of the song that he got), there's absolutely no tension and his sound is so open and supported. also, i listen to a lot of music in this genre and he suited this song the most so i'm so disappointed with the line distribution. honestly they should've given the ah part to the military guy since he's a power vocal (obv not just that part) and then the intro should've been gwangseok (not just so that he could show off his voice but bc the song itself would've sounded better with him at the beginning).

I guess I'm on a hunt for a new vocal star (in my taste) watching this show LOL I still dont know who would be my pick but rn I'm steering toward BITSEON, cuz I've known him thru Peak Time. I'm also rooting for CIX Seunghoon cuz, in YG Treasure Box, I felt like he did great, but (maybe) since he was (according to YG's plan) older than the aimed age group for the next boy group (TREASURE), he always got not-so-good feedback by YG, and kinda lowering his chance of getting picked for the group. Seeing him getting acknowledged here made me feel a kind of "relief", and hope that he would do well in the show.

The interim voting is what I’m scared about. You can definitely see almost all idol members are in the upper half. I hope that after the 2nd episode, rankings will shake up.

My top three right now are Donghun, Jeup, and Jay and I really do not see this changing until the end of the show. My fourth pick changes though between Seunghun, Neon, and Taehwan.

The song after Tomboy, the one that got the feedback that his run lack detail. The translation was weird but I think they're trying to say there's a lack of expression in his voice. I noticed the same thing. He hit the notes and did belt with power but the belt felt a little short. Like push push push through the note and done. I think a little lingering cap to that run to make the section felt full and more complete. there's a few seconds of space right after he did his belt that made the way he ended that section sound a little bluntly cut off. It felt like a technical push of the vocal chords rather than an expression of the song swelling up into a belt. There's room for him to fully express his section better, esp when it's a stand out part in the song.

The one up beat power vocal song and everyone fumbled …. Ugh so sad. Even the best one in the group held back in the big belt moment …. The song is supposed to be explosive and sound triumphant. Everything is so held back and careful when it needed to explode … there’s no top tier in the group for me tbh. I feel bad watching them

I don't know if you noticed that Lee Hwan Hee is from Boys Planet :) He did Kill This Love with Gunwook - Gunwook persuaded him into picking his members :D But had to drop out due to health issues, as I recall - but did a lot of guest appearances in later episodes. [EDIT] Okay, rewatched your episode 1 reaction and you did mention him :D Also, this week's episode (ep3) is 2 vs 2, which is a duet against another duet. So picking a partner is crucial for the performance, you have to find a partner that you have chemistry with, both in singing and performance-wise. Lastly, while reading the subs, it's displayed like a chat, meaning it just adds line by line, so just mind reading the last line and you're able to follow faster :) It's getting sooo good! However, I wished there were better subs out there. But it's better than nothing for now and you can follow the broadcast time :)
