I usually don't comment and just enjoy the content but I wanted to chime in on the discourse about idols who produce/write their own music and those who don't. Usually when this discussion comes up it's typically not about the subject at all and instead is something that is as you said weaponized for ridiculous stan Twitter arguments that occur almost cyclically. In Taemin's case it's not even a matter of he can't write his own music because from my memory of his discography he wrote the lyrics for Soldier from his Press It album(it was even included in his MAMA performance medley) and Day and Night which served as the repackage title for the Move album repack ( and it even got its own mv). While these weren't title tracks and songwriting isn't part of Taemin's brand/narrative examples exist in his discography. But I don't think this discourse is ever really in good faith, especially online, it's just used to create this false illusion that the only way an idol can contribute to their art/music is songwriting/producing or nothing. When in reality using Taemin for example we've heard him talking about picking songs, fighting SM to pick the title tracks he wants (i.e. Move), choosing the director of an mv or choreographer he wants to work with, styling, concepts, even creating choreo himself (i.e. Artistic Groove). Like some elements contribute to an artist's vision/persona and aren't as easily credited but Taemin's thematic consistency in his image/persona, concepts and music(including b-sides and his Japanese discography) speaks for itself that someone has to spearhead & curate that, it doesn't just appear out of nowhere or get handed to him from SM and he's spoken on this a few times. But all of this is too nuanced of a topic to discuss on social media and is admittedly very specific info that has trickled out over many years so only someone who is probably already a Taemin fan or Shawol would know to even bring up these things anyway. This was such a beautiful video to watch. I will be honest, with all the toxicity and drama on Twitter, I unwillingly started viewing BTS in a negative light. This episode came out in the perfect time and brought me back to reality. I was just so happy seeing how well treated Taemin was and how amazing Jimin and Suga are. I genuinely erased all negative feelings I had and it just feels so good. Kpop is supposed to be fun and enjoyable but fandoms' toxicity ruins it. That's why I decided to take a break from Twitter and consume by myself other groups' contents and form my opinion based on what I saw and not on the fandom. I absolutely love all your commentaries and the way you react. Please keep doing it as long as you wish!!

taemin actually writes a lot of his songs but theyre usually bsides and not title tracks
